“Basic accomidations in a good location”

Best Western Alpenglo Lodge

We recently stayed at the Best Western in Winter Park.

The hotel is pretty basic with clean, decent sized rooms equipped with a microwave and a refrigerator. The lobby area has a few microwaves, a toaster, a cappuccino and hot chocolate machine, and a few tables. When we walked in there were people with kids using most of the space. Breakfast is provided in the morning and includes cereal, fruit, juice, doughnuts, bagels, bread, frozen omelets and sausage (that you microwave) and WONDERFUL waffles.

The one real downfall of this hotel is the basic building infrastructure. The walls are really thin and you can hear noise from the rooms next door and above very easily. The kids in the room above liked to run around the rooms and hallways and you could here every bit of it from our room. A simple conversation in the room next door could be easily listened to.

The hotel’s location is very convenient to Winter Park Resort and it’s right in the town of Winter Park. There are a few places to eat close buy.

Other than the lack of soundproofing, the hotel overall was a decent value type room. Parking was included with the room rate.

I had a wonderful experience at this property
Myself and my husband and our 2 children stay here for a 5 night stay, ideal location easy to access the nearby eatery's great breakfast, brilliant hot tub and on a free shuttle route to the mountain.

I don't have a clue how anyone could find this property anything other than a great place to stay We'll definately re-book

This hotel is now a Best Western. I have stayed here when it was a Super 8 and even then it was kept very clean.
I believe the rooms have recently been updated since my last stay. The location is convenient to resteraunts, shops etc and the hotel staff is knowledgable about the area. They serve a continental breakfast which is enough to get you started. The rates are reasonably competitive with other hotels in the area. I would stay here again!

“Good Basic Lodging, Central Location”

Good, basic mid-range hotel. About what I expected from a Best Western property: Clean, comfortable beds, good sized rooms. Not too fancy, but not rough either. Location is good to walk to nearby restaurants and visitor center. Included breakfast is skimpy, but good enough if you just need coffee, juice and toast. Try the cafe just half a block south if you need a cappacino.

“Good place to stay on a budget”

Best Western Alpenglo Lodge

My wife and I stayed at the Alpenglow lodge for 7 nights this January and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is not the most luxurious, but, that isn't what we were looking for. All we wanted was a nice place to stay that was comfortable and clean, while we were skiing, the Alpenglow provided this. The breakfast that the hotel serves is pretty basic with bagels, doughnuts and toast the order of the day. But this did provide enough to start the day before heading to the slopes. I can't complain about the hotel the room was cleaned every day, and when my wife had a problem with the hair dryer it was replaced straight away. The hotel is ideally located, the free ski shuttle stops right outside the hotel, and some excellent restaurants and bars are only a few minutes walk away. If you can't afford to stay at the couple of hotels located at the base of the ski area, then this hotel is an ideal location. I definitely want to come back to Winter Park to go skiing in the future, and won't hesitate to stay at the Alpenglow.
