Found this place based on previous TA reviews (thanks!). Appropriately named, this establishment is located well off the main drag in a lodge/hotel of sorts called the Silverado II. We were the only customers in sight, so we took advantage of our private dining experience. The waiter was pleasant and attentive. Started with mussels in a butter/wine/sun dried tomato broth, which I sopped up with slices of fresh baguette. Daughter had the seafood mac & cheese, a healthy portion, which I tasted and was rich but not overpowering. There was nothing left on her plate. My son, ordered the chicken pot pie and ate more than half, despite claiming he was not the least bit hungry. I ordered the special of the day - duck breast and leg with confit ("sauce"?) and sides of green beans and potatoes au gratin. My duck was well prepared but the sides were decent if a tad non-descript. Since it was my daughter's 15th b-day, she ordered the chocolate mousse and we all had a bite...or two.
Chef Karl Vogelbacher came out to greet us which was a nice touch. I'm not so much into decor but I would say nothing special here. Overall, a positive experience. I hope the place catches, as I like to see family run places like this succeed.
