Me and my husband planned a get-a-way and spent 4 days in Winter Park attending a jazz festival. Our first place that we booked was awful and we walked away from that lodge and discovered Zephyr Mountain Lodge. The only rentals that were available were the 2-bed 2-bath. Our condo was nicely appointed, with granite counter tops, king size pillow top beds, tiled bathrooms, and I could go on. The resort had everything anyone could ask for. The service was excellent. It made up for us losing out on the other rental. Staying in a nice place away from one just makes the trip worth while. I would recommend this resort to anyone traveling to Winter Park, CO.

I have mixed feelings about this company. I travel A LOT for business so I am not a novice and know when I am working with a top knotch staff. Although this staff was pleasant and the manager worked with me to remedy a reservation error - more later - I still came away without a solid recommendation based upon the staff. However, the hotel and location is superb. Underground parking, close to the village stores and restaurants and the adventure park behind the hotel. Make sure you do the chair lift and alpine slide over and over again! Our room was large and came with a row of 6-7 windows that opened to let the refreshing Colorado air in - wonderful for sleeping at night! Make sure you get a room that faces the mountain/adventure park. Wish the bathroom had more shelf space, but not a big deal. Free in-room internet with a kitchen. Issue was in reservation of room - asked for room with 2 beds and got one with one bed (they count a sofa bed as one bed so beware) - then, when check out the computer was down and I had requested an invoice to be emailed to me - I had to call back twice to finally get this out of them, then was suprised to find a $10 "booking fee" tacked on that was never mentioned to me when making the reservation.

We had mntside view room with fireplace and full kitchen, which provided a luxurious feel but all the fluff isn't a necessity when you're concerned with being mostly outside (that said, it IS nice after a long day)- clean, great view, great service within hotel, great location in village, closest you can get to zephyr lift. it is pricey, but we were had a great time.
A few < great things, the water pressure is less than optimal & WIFI is not available, although you can connect with a cable (in our room, the cable line was located in the kitchen).

We stayed 11 nights at the Zephyr. The location is fabulous - the only slopeside location in Winter Park. The room was a good size, with a good bathroom, a reasonable sized bedroom and a well-equipped kitchen. The hottubs (also slopeside) are good and a great place to relax after a day skiing.

But, the room was only cleaned once during our stay, not enough. The sofa bed was terribly uncomfortable. There is no restaurant or bar at the Zephyr, which was disappointing.

The staff was nice though. We were there the day after the ski resort shut for the season and the whole place had shut down. The staff arranged for us to get a lift into the nearby town of Winter Park at no cost, which was good of them.

Last time I was in Winter Park, I stayed at the Vintage Hotel, which I preferred.

We just returned from a 4 day ski vacation at Winter Park Resort. We stayed at the Zephyr Mountain Lodge. The slope side location was very convenient and the unit was large, clean and comfortable. The absolutely best part of the lodge (and Winter Park in general) was the extremely friendly and helpful staff. From the moment we arrived the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. We arrived around 1pm after a long day of travel and unfortunately our unit was not ready. The staff at the desk immediately looked to see what other units were available and then gave us a tour so we could pick the one that suited our needs the best. The even upgraded us to the penthouse unit at no extra charge. They also sent up a cot at no extra charge.

The unit was spacious, comfortable and adequately stocked. The location was very convenient, just a few steps to the lifts. The hot tubs were nice, but unfortunately this lodge does not have a pool. On our last day we had a very late flight out of Denver. The staff extended our check out until 4pm to allow us ample time to ski, shower, and pack up in the comfort of our unit. I highly recommend Winter Park, and specifically the Zephyr Mountain Lodge for a family ski vacation.

Room Tip: ask for the penthouse unit

Was slightly concerned by some of the dodgy reviews but after an excellent week at the Zephyr I neednt have been worried.

We had an excellent 3 Bedroom condo which faced the slopes and had all the amenities you'd need. Bathrooms and kitchens were spotless with plenty of towels etc. There was also loads of space for boots, jackets etc.

Great mini bus service to town for meals etc.

Only thing about the base village is that shopping is limited and I would NOT recommend the breakfast catering in The Market. Head for Mountain Rose, Carvers or even better Rise and Shine instead.

Overall a really good base, near an excellent mountain and an easy drive from Denver.

We have never been to Winter Park or been skiing. This lodge was a great for our family of first time skiers. We had a two bedroom condo and it had plenty of room for us all. The ski in and ski out was great. We would go the locker room pick up our equipment and head to the slopes. The Village had everything we needed. The down side was everything closes at 4 and most of the restaurants and shops closed early too, and the food was very expensive. We cooked all our meals in our condo to save money. There is a very nice Safeway in Fraser to pick up groceries. The Winter Park Ski school was awesome...thanks Frank!! and my 7 year old was speeding down the slopes in one day, so take lessons these instructors are awesome!! for all ages.
