“Solid place to eat, great patio, pretty reasonable.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We've eaten at Austin's Homestead on several occasions, usually when we have family in town. During the summer, the patio overlooking the Water Valley golf course, the pool and the mountains beyond, is just awesome. The food is solid here, you will have a good meal and get what you expect when you eat here. The prices are reasonable for an upper class casual kind of place, and they have a decent selection of local craft beers and wine at the bar. The staff is usually friendly and we've never had bad service there. You will typically find a few to a bar-full of golfers at the 19th hole and they can get a little rowdy if you are looking for a more chill atmosphere.

The building itself might be the best part. It is built like a giant lodge, and more than one time we have walked in the front door to see a wedding party in the lobby getting ready for a beach wedding or taking pre-wedding pictures (they rent the location out for weddings).

Overall, I'd highly recommend Austin's Homestead.

“Not enough seating”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

It's a popular restaurant and there isn't enough seating to handle the crowds. We couldn't wait that long for a table this time and there was no seating in the bar. The hostess was matter of fact about the wait and suggest we check in the bar for a table instead of seeing what she could find herself. This is the second time this happened and the second time we had to pass and go somewhere else.

“Austin's Homestead...Great Food with a View”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012

Although this particular version of Austin's is maybe not as good as their sister restaurants in Fort Collins, this is certainly a good place to go for a delicious casual meal. Sit outside for a beautiful view. It's more than just a golf course restaurant.

“Nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012

The food is alright, but DO NOT order a salad unless you like bag lettuce that tastes like the refrigerator. The staff are friendly and attentive. The best thing about this place is not the food, but the drinks. Bloody Mary's are good.

“Inconsistent food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2012

The first time I went here for an early dinner and had the Hawaiian chicken salad and it was soooo delicious - perfectly fried chicken breast over a large portion of mixed greens, with an abundance of mandarin oranges, cranberries, macadamia nuts and toasted coconut. Needless to say, I couldn't wait to have it again, so returned less than a week later. Well, was I shocked when I ordered the same salad (settling for grilled chicken because they were out of the fried) and received a small house salad of iceberg lettuce, tomato, cukes and onion with about a teaspoon each of cranberries, macadamia nuts, a cut up chicken breast and a sprinkle of coconut. When I questioned it, the waitress called over a man I'd assume was manager who told me that "this is how we always make it - it's a house salad with the other ingredients added" (nowhere on the menu does it say that - each salad is described differently). He kept insisting this was so, even though their very limited menu has nothing else it could have been and my first salad was entirely different. I was flabbergasted! I noticed $5 was deducted from my bill, with no mention of it or apology.
