Castlegarth offers excellent cuisine with creative accents. Using mostly local ingredients, the husband-wife chefs team have a loyal following. We were visiting friends and this was our second visit in a few years. After a winter greens salad with fried blue haze and olive tapenade, I enjoyed an excellent roasted chicken breast with sweet potato mash and wilted spinach. My husband had bacon-wrappped cod - everything was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. Others had beef wellington, boar schnitzel and duck. Nice wine list and desserts!! They also have a takeaway shop with frozen goods galore. Definitely worth the country drive.
