“Staff made our stay very enjoyable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2009

We recently stayed at this hotel for a little over 2 weeks with our newborn baby. The location is suburban and close to lots of stores and restaurants. There are also a lot of food delivery options. It takes about 10-15 minutes to get to Downtown Denver depending on traffic so it's not too far out. The price was very reasonable.

The kitchen and separate bedroom (we had a one-bedroom suite) came in extremely handy for us since we had a baby and needed to have easy access to making formula and grabbing some sleep in-beween feedings and diaper changes.

What really impressed us though was the staff. They went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable. They even took the extra step to buy a cute outfit for our baby to welcome her to the hotel! This is the best service I've ever received at a hotel at any price. Next time we are in the Denver area, we will be back!

I stayed at the Residence Inn in Westminster for two nights (Sept 5 - 7) while visiting family in Colorado. The hotel is in a good area, close to restaurants and shops. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The complimentary buffet is good. My room was large and clean.

The kitchen had a full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, a table and chairs, plates, glasses, a pot, silverware, etc. The couch in the living room could be converted into a relatively comfy sofabed. There was also a TV, phone, and dresser with 2 drawers. And an iron and ironing board in the closet.

The bedroom had a TV, a dresser with 3 drawers, 2 nightstands, an alarm clock, and a phone. The bathroom was also in the bedroom; the sink was in the bedroom, separate from the shower/toilet.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would not hesitate to stay again in the future.

Stayed here for several days. Nice rooms. Staff was very nice and responded well to any requests we made. Pool was also nice and reasonably warm.

Friendly staff at this hotel, and the hotel itself is clean, quiet enough (depending on neighbors of course), and provides a full breakfast. Also, it's location, next to the RTD parking garage makes for easy access to and from DIA.

Our room was very dirty, We had food in the closet, the oven had tons of baked on food. the walls were dirty, the bathroom was gross, the mopping was probably always done over dirt because it was built up in all corners. Aside from the maids not doing a very good job at all, the hotel was not maintained. The ceiling was yellowed. The wallpaper was coming down from the water damage in the bathroom. The doors in hotel were all dinged. The carpet was coming up. The manager had the maids come in while we were there(uncomfortable). The manager was very nice. The maids not properly managed. I would not recommend this to anyone. There are lots of nice places to stay in Denver for the money.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2008

I completed three stays totaling 19 nights at the RI Denver North in April and May 2008. Twice I had a studio king and once 1BR suite with two queens. Obviously, I wouldn't have returned twice if I weren't satisfied. Below are some random notes and tips.

While my business was mainly in the suburbs, I want to emphasize that this hotel is a viable choice for travelers, business or tourist, whose plans are focused on downtown Denver. The hotel is across the street from an RTD park-and-ride facility. During rush hour there are frequent express busses to/from downtown. The ride is less than 20 minutes.

There are plenty of restaurants and useful stores within moderate walking distance. Closest restaurants are Sweet Tomatoes (a soup and salad buffet place), Joe’s Crab Shack, a Texas-themed steak house whose name escapes me. In the small adjacent shopping center are an Arby’s, a Chinese takeout, Subway, and a liquor store. In the big box shopping centers across the street (15 minutes walk to the furthest point are): 24-hour WalMart with grocery store, Office Depot, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble w/ Starbucks, 24-hr FedEx Kinkos, Wild Oats (organic grocery, I think it’s the same chain as Whole Foods), Boston Market, Einstein Bagels, Uno’s, and more.

The pool is small but popular with families. The exercise room is also modest: a treadmill, a bike, and a universal.

Breakfast was adequate though I think only a couple of things change from day to day, so it gets monotonous rather fast. I was a little disappointed that the evening reception was only Monday-Wednesday, and the food was mediocre except on night's when Carrabas catered. The breakfast and evening reception staff are very pleasant.

Front desk staff were also most helpful. Toward the end of my second stay, I went to book my third at Marriott.com and found that the rates would be much higher. I went to the front desk to ask for help and the manager gave me a room at the same rate I was already paying.

The wireless internet service was fine though it changed twice during my time at the RI. I wonder whether they use multiple services and somehow rotate them.

If you want to make tea in the lobby, don’t get your water from the urn next to the coffee. The water will smell like coffee. Use the boiling water tap in the kitchen.

The TVs were rather old and in two rooms there was a channel (a different one in each room) that had poor reception.

  • Liked — Convenient home away from home
  • Disliked — No variety in breakfast offerings, evening receptions too modest

I travel extensively for leisure (12 hotels in 2006) and the Residence Inn in Westminster wins my vote for BEST VALUE. In September of 2006 we paid $84 a night for: a small one bedroom apartment with full kitchen, prepared breakfast each morning, indoor pool, and adequate fitness facility. The hotel was exceptionally clean and well-maintained.
The Residence Inn is located off a freeway with several hotels lining each side of the highway. Shopping and restaurants are within easy walking distance. The major sights in this area of Colorado are spread out over a large area, so having a car is a must. Therefore, you can avoid the high price of hotels in Denver (Residence Inn is about a 25 minute drive from the heart of the city) and use the suburb of Westminster to visit central Colorado.
We asked for a third story room on the advice of another review. You will have mountain views and the noise from the freeway is masked by the air conditioning system. I tried to include a couple of photos, but tripadvisor has a limit of 2 MB and mine were slightly over the limit. Just realize that you will have great views of the mountains AND the freeway. Just look at the beautiful mountains and try to ignore the freeway!!
Have a great time in Colorado!!
