This B & B is one of the nicest places I have ever been in the whole country. I stayed there in late August while being on a 40-day trip around the western US. When entering the place it becomes apparent that John and Mo, the innkeepers, put a lot of effort and love to detail into maintaining this a special place. All rooms are situated around a naturally kept courtyard. Enjoying a warm summer evening in this garden is a special experience of its own. My room was nicely decorated, the bed was very comfortable and breakfast was a great treat (coffee brewed with a true Italian coffee machine).

My husband and I, and a friend, booked two rooms on short notice for a 3-night stay in Westcliffe. From taking our reservation, to checking in, through checking out, the owners were friendly, cordial and helpful - but not pushy or nosy. Although it was fall and most of the flowers and leaves were gone, we loved the courtyard anyway. A fire of pinion logs greeted us each morning and evening, and even though it was cold outside, we greatly enjoyed sitting at the fire in the serene courtyard before bed and before heading out for the day. The waterfall, pond with fish, and many wild birds added to the serenity.

The rooms were very comfortable, and most importantly, CLEAN and QUIET. The beds have feather mattresses and duvets - wonderful! Mattresses are firm. The rooms are tastefully decorated, have private baths, and all open into the courtyard.

Breakfast was great! Individually brewed cups of coffee with real cream, a full breakfast of cinnamon rolls, a different egg dish each morning, fruits and juice got us off to a great start each day.

We highly recommend this B&B without reservation!

There is obviously a lot of care and energy put into the Courtyard. The courtyard part of the inn is lovely and cozy and it's a pleasure to sit out there both during the day and the evening when a fire is lit. Breakfast is very good and there is some flexibility on when you eat. Some B&Bs will limit you to "breafast at 8AM" so this is a plus. The reason I can't give it 5 stars is that the rooms are on the plain side and looking a little dated. They don't quite come up to the standard the courtyard hints at. All in all though, very nice. I would return.

The Courtyard Country Inn is a beautiful, cozy, warm, bed and breakfast. This is my first visit to this B&B but I will absolutely be back. John and Mo, the Innkeepers make you feel welcome and like part of the family. The rooms are sparkling clean with wonderfuly cozy down comforters in the beautifully decorated, quaint rooms. A pinion fire in the chimenea invited us to sit near the fire even though it was cold and snowy outside. The courtyard garden looks like it will be awesome in the summer, so we will be back to enjoy it again.
