“Great value for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2011

We stayed at the Anchor Motel in Walsenburg so we could visit Mission Wolf Sanctuary nearby. Our room was clean and included a microwave, mini fridge, and all the other basic amenities you would expect. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again for such a great price.

I booked a reservation at this motel solely from Trip Advisor reviews and was absolutely impressed when I arrived. This is an older motel with small rooms that are spotless, perfectly clean nice large bathrooms, the shower was in perfect order and the airconditioner worked well and was quiet. The mattress and pillows were as good as my own. The manager was friendly and helpful from the minute I made the reservation until I checked out. And this was the most economical place that I have ever stayed, I will stay again on my back home and anytime I am in that area. I give it 5 STARS.

Room Tip: My room had one queen bed, very small, but everything was great.

We broke down at the trail head at the west Spanish Peak on Sunday . Had the Jeep towed to Walsenburg and found ourselves at the Anchor. They were amazing and nice the rooms clean and affordable. We had to stay for 2 days. The friendly folks at the Anchor made the whole ordeal bearable!!!

We stayed at the Anchor motel, the staff were very friendly, we were traveling on the motorcycle and had got caught in an earlier rain storm which caused some of our clothing to get wet. We were able to use the motel dryer to dry our clothing. They were having a "backyard" BBQ , It is a very homey feeling motel , clean and comfortable and just the right price. We will certainly tell others.

We found ourselves having to stay in Walsenburg, but not wanting to spend alot. We had first tried the more well know hotel in the area, and decided it was too high. We then checked trip advisor, and this hotel shined. We decided to try it out. It was very nice. It was clean, plenty of room, and had extra amenities that made it a nice touch.(ie..microwave, refrig, and coffee maker). No frills, but the owner was really nice and added some personal touches. I don't think you will be dissappointed if you stay. Also, it had a very nice TV, modern considering!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 35 and found it spacious.

Have stayed in other establishments in Walsenburg in the past and have not been happy with them. The Anchor Motel was certainly a surprise and pleasure. Our room was extremely clean, comfortable and cozy. We will definitely stay there again when passing through Walsenburg.

If you like comfortable, clean and cozy (instead of cold, costly and impersonal), you will love this!
