“Better than eating on the mountain.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

Having been doing all my skiing in the huge 3 Vallees in France, I have now done 3 lots of 3 weeks in Vail. Despite having visited Most of the best restaurants in Vail I highly rate the Chophouse as the ever day visit.
The chophouse is NOT overpriced, it is far better value than eating at the self service restaurants on the mountain.
It is right by the bottom of the slopes for which they do not seem to charge you a premium.
This really is our go to spot, where we all meet for lunches that all too often keep us off the slopes in the afternoon, and I used to be well known for not stopping all day.
To put it in perspective their prime beef burger with fries and salad which is enormous is $14USD. Under £10Gbp, for which you could only get a couple of Big Mac meals for in Europe.
I don't know what top notch restaurants some of the other writers have been to, but suggest that they get out a bit more, and see the real cost of living.
Keep up the good work.

“Phenomenal food and drinks, but priced that way”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2014

Ate at the bar on a Friday night. had steaks and seafood. Everything was cooked perfectly and with a nice touch. SErvice was great despite them being full and short staffed. Great meal.

“Overpriced”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2014

Prices compare to a top notch restaurant but the food isn't up to par. Location is very good just at the base of the gondola.

“Come Hungry! Great food! Good variety.”

Best Steak and Seafood in Vail. Great service and a magician kept us entertained. Located at the base of Lionshead Gondola. Watch the slopes while you dine.

“Great restaurant, great service.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2014

Our waitress, Leigh, was incredibly attentive and nice. It was a very busy Friday night during spring break season and she still found time to look after us and get our complicated drink orders. The food was excellent and the wine list was superb! Pricey, but typical for Vail. Will be back again.
