“Great location to Vail!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

We stayed at the Vail Mountain Lodge & Spa Sept 26--30, 2013. The rooms were nice, bathrooms generous and a fireplace was included. Also, one of the top Vail restaurants (Terra Bistro) was located on the first floor, which was where we had our breakfast (included). The rate was reasonable for the time of year. Parking is valet @ $25, or we chose the free option at the Vail parking garage across the street--very convenient. Located just 100 yds from the Vail village, this is ideally located. Staff is friendly and and helpful. Would definitely recommend staying here!

stayed 4 nights mid-week in the off-season. Delightful. Low key, but very responsive. Wife asked the front desk to turn on our fireplace and the staff responded within minutes. Asked for the vending machines (there are none; it's a lodge, not a hotel) and they brought two fountain drinks from the bar in about 90 seconds (no charge). The restaurant (Terra Bistro) was quite the scene, starting with 'appy hour' at 5:00 -- best margarita I've had in Colorado.

The shopping in September is a little too good. Vail's bronze artwork around town is superb. Don't miss 'Chief Rain in the Face' life-sized bronze in the Solaris area. Photo attached.
If you get a chance, rent a Segway from Sage Adventures and see the town. What a blast.
Special shout-out to Shane in the lobby; people in Vail are very friendly, but he was a prince.

The room was nice.. Good storage. The "valley view" was a parking lot across the street and the interstate was pretty noisy! The tub is miniature... If you're over 5'5", you cannot straighten your legs! The front "lobby" is not a lobby at all...and is staffed with one person. Don't expect a gracious welcome or a helpful attitude. And there's no way to get your luggage up the entrance stairs except by hand. The bar has excellent food and happy hour...but the bar staff isn't particularly friendly. The nicest people were the Russian girl who hosted the free breakfast and Chris, who helped us depart and the cleaning ladies. Accommodations were good. Customer service, with few exceptions, was blatantly bad. And there is no AC or swimming pool. The outdoor spa closes at 8:00 pm.

We stayed 5 nights in the summer. The room was large and very comfortable. We had a pet with us and the hotel was great for this. Great location right off Bridge Street. Great full breakfast at Terra Bistro. The outdoor hot tubs are nothing special if you want to soak with your spouse (no pool). If you want to relax alone, the indoor facilities in the locker room are very nice. We've stayed at several places in Vail. VML is a great value and right up there with the nicest properties in town. You won't be disappointed.

Once you find the hotel, it is great. I drove past the first time because the sign advertised the restaurant and the spa, but said nothing about the unassuming entrance being the hotel. No parking for registration sign, etc. Also was kind of odd that the hotel registration desk was a small dais to the side in the lobby, but Sean was very accommodating. Room was amazing, super comfy beds and amenities. Breakfast was great. We were only staying one night on way to relatives, but would love to stay here again for a longer visit. Very accommodating to our small dog.

If you're going to vail in the summer then Vail Mountain Lodge is a great place to stay. The summer rates are much lower than winter, so the summer is a great time to stay. The rooms a very nice, especially the beds, they are so comfy. The customer service is great, if you have a bike you can store it their storage room, if you need your bike they will stop what they're doing and get your bike for you. They also take it down to the storage room for you. So the Vail Mountain Lodge is a great place to stay.

Room Tip: Very pricy in the winter.

We rented a 3 bedroom condo on the first floor. Very well appointed and comfortable. We had a beautiful view of Gore Creek and were able to hear it in the evening. There is a nice kitchen with all of the appliances to cook a good meal. You will have to provide all condiments, salt, pepper, etc. They do provide coffee. We had our breakfasts at the Terrace Bistro and enjoyed the food.
The wait staff and hotel staff were helpful and knowledgeable. It is very expensive, but if your party is made up of 3 couples, you can split the cost.
