“Our new fave place to stay!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2008

Can't say enough about what an incredible place this is! The location can't be beat - you can be at either lift within minutes of the back door of the lodge. And 2 minutes from Vail Village.
The lobby is spectacular - it has a great fireplace & really comfy couches, so you can just sit and enjoy a book & the gorgeous view.
We booked a mountain view and it was so worth it. The views were spectacular & the fireplace in the room added a wonderful ambiance. Our MV room was generously sized & the bathroom was great too. Room was clean.
And the staff was so friendly...ALWAYS willing to help & always had great suggestions!
We can't wait to go back - we decided this was going to be an annual trip for us! And we'll always stay at the Tivoli!

First time to Vail and my husband & I really enjoyed our stay. Tivoli Lodge was a great place with convenient location to the slopes, less than a 5 min walk to the lifts. The best part of the day after full day of skiing is when you can ‘almost’ ski right back to the lodge’s back entrance door from Riva Ridge. (Almost was noted because you’ll have to cross a small street and assuming they haven’t cleared the road) Service was prompt & good. The owners were pleasant and they care about your experience. And to top it off, Indy (Chocolate Lab), made sure you were enjoying your vacation by setting an example… :o) We’ll definitely come back next year.

“We had a wonderful stay at the Tivoli Lodge - Definitely the best all-around accommodations ever. The lodge itself is a perfect ski place steps away from the Vista Bahn lift – the ski valet stores your equipment, dry your boots and supplies slippers for use to the room. The lobby is beautiful with fire side furniture to relax on and a complete bar for cocktails – Jason, the bartender was outstanding in service and a pleasure to meet. The staff was excellent including valet parking, turn-down service, nightly bottled water and concierge service – truly a 5 star experience. We stayed in a Mountain View fireplace room that had a perfect view of the front side with details like no other. The 2 outdoor Mountain View hot-tubs were a perfect ending to the ski day. The Tivoli is far enough away from the village to be quiet and only steps away for a nice walk to dinner on the heated sidewalks. The Lazier family did it perfect – thanks for the perfect vacation!”

Let me preface that I am a skier and have been going to Vail for winter and summers for a long long time and have stayed in many hotels both in Vail and Lionshead. This was a ladies ski trip for us as my friend's husband stayed at home. We both have been skiing Vail for over 30 years so Vail is home to us. I am going expound on my stay as I feel so strongly about the new Tivoli and what an asset it is to Vail and the price value that it offers.

It is amazing as to what the Lazier family accomplished in building their new hotel. We arrived and were blown away first of all by the beautiful European style stone building.
Environmentally the automatic entry door is correct even though at times you think oh no but it does help to control the heat. We entered and then wandered in awe for about five minutes taking in the large lobby area, looking at the artwork, the warmth of the furniture, and the spaciousness of the check-in area. Large floor to ceiling windows embrace the entire back. The nicest part was seeing again the familiar faces behind the front desk again offering their gracious hospitality that has welcomed us so many times over the years.

A bellman gave us the tour and what a proud young man from South America. A business center room complete with a computer and printer, (no charge). Library with TV, the ski and ski boot room and let me tell you this is uptown. You are not allowed to wear ski boots in the lobby on the beautiful stone floors but they give you slippers to wear to the ski room and back to your room. The hallways are so spacious and the room numbers are wonderful as to how they are presented all specially made.

We so enjoyed the elevator laughing as the door closed thinking how many times we hauled our bags at the old Tivoli up all the stairs. Each floor offers wide hallways which we love. Then, we went into our Mountain View room and could not believe how spacious with two queen beds. There was a granite wet bar with coffee, tea, small refrigerator, and complimentary internet access. Bathrooms are something else. Walk in shower and a deep relaxing bathtub. Under the sink there was so much cabinet space so for two ladies it was perfect! Thick towels including an over-sized bath towels. Nightly turndown we received bottled waters which are always appreciated in the mountains. The beds are wonderful! It is nice to have everything new. The choice of colors including the carpet is relaxing and fits so well for the mountains bringing the indoor sand outdoors together. Our view overlooked the park and the mountain. In fact, my friend ended up hurting her leg after the second day and she loved sitting in the chair and just looking out while reading. It was the most comfortable week of skiing that we have ever had. A year before we stayed at The Lodge - which was wonderful but no where near the room space that the Tivoli offers.

There is an expansive continental breakfast included in the rate and it was terrific we were not the least bit disappointed in fact very surprised and some excellent choices. Not your basic continental breakfast at the Best Western! It is served in the lobby area in the Brown Hound Lounge and there is staff there to make sure they do not run out of anything. Lazier's favorite canine mascot Indy (brown lab) did visit us several mornings as he has done many times before as he wants to make you know that he is really Mr. Tivoli!

The location of the Tivoli is great and offers peace and quiet. You are within a five minute walk to the best of Vail year-round - Golden Peak, the Village, Vista Bahn and the Betty Ford Theater in the summer. There is currently so much construction in Vail and at Lions Head that it is nice to be away from it and the noise of Hwy 70. We did not drive so we did not take advantage of the parking garage. You can ski back to the hotel at the end of the day.

Before we left we did tour other rooms including the Village View rooms and it really is a matter of preference and price. We did see the Peter Seibert Suite and it offers breathtaking views of down valley and Golden Peak. We all commented that it is perfect for a honeymoon. The pictures of Peter in the room are very intimate and special as he was Mr. Vail. The Lazier's were some of the very first to live in Vail in the early 60's. For us it is so nice to stay in a family run hotel and to talk with the owners. They do care about you and your experience – you are coming into their home. Now, compared to years ago all the resorts are getting so many branded hotels that the personality of the hotels and the ski areas have disappeared and also the staff are afraid to engage you. They are only there for a season.
Kudos to the management of Tivoli for keeping the familiar faces to greet you.

We have always skied with a group of doctors for years and many were in Vail at the same time we were so we invited them to come over and see the hotel. It is a secret now but I am sure not for long. We loved the new Tivoli Lodge and know that we will be returning again and again!! I agree with their tag line - A Vail Classic.

I could go on and on about how incredible this place is. recently REBUILT and the owner spared no expense. the rooms and bathrooms and shower are all very nicely appointed and exactly as they appear on the website. doors, linens, furniture all top of the line. walls soundproofed. I typically stay at 4-5 star properties and the Tivoli is w/out a doubt one of finest I have experienced especially when price is taken into account

We stayed in the Village tower and were very satisfied with it. We looked at all other room types and even the "basic" room is very nice and spacious enough. the price of the Tivoli compared to other nice properties in Vail is no comparison. however, this is not a spa or full service hotel.

breakfast is "upscale" continental-waffles, breads, cereals, fruit, quiche, boiled eggs, smoked salmon, juices-all freshly prepared.

all of the staff were very friendly and helpful. only 62 rooms here so it has more of an intimate feel to it. location is right next to vail village - just close enough for an easy 2 minute walk into the village but far enough to be quiet. we are not skiiers so not sure how Tivoli compares with other properties for these purposes. only drawback is they don't have a/c but are preparing to have it soon. still, room was comfy b/c of fan supplied in room. owner lives in bldg and is seen throughout the day. you won't regret staying at the tivoli lodge. we are planning on visiting here again before the snow season begins.

Just returned from a week at the Tivoli and can't believe that I was at the same hotel as some of the unhappy previous posters.
FIrst of all, the resort is absolutely beautiful with a warm, welcoming lobby, fireplace and apres ski bar. The rooms are spacious and very well appointed...granite and wood, over-sized bathrooms with heaters and little cubbies for your toiletries ( a nice touch), very comfy beds, refrigerator, coffee maker, evening turn down service, and spotlessly clean.
I was not aware that there was any construction in the area and certainly never heard any trucks early in the morning. The staff could not have been more accomodating and friendly, always greeting people as they came in and out and always asking if everything was to your liking. The owner is on site every day and was always seen chatting with the guests. I ran into him in the elevator and the first thing he did was ask if everything was going well with our stay. They now serve appetizers during apres ski time and have a gourmet menu for dinner for those who do not want to venture into the village which is just a few steps away from the hotel. The breakfast is generous and more than enough to start the day......eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, a large crock pot of hot oatmeal, waffles, assorted pastries, muffins, yogurt, meats and cheeses and of course, juices and coffee. The food was plentiful and they seemed to replace it about every 15 minutes with fresh trays.
Needless to say, we loved everything about this hotel.........the location, the staff, the rooms, the breakfast. They even have a ski valet to store your skis and take them out for you in the morning.
I will stay here on all future visits to Vail and recommend to anyone I know going for a visit.

This is a beautiful and richly appointed ski lodge that has a warm and friendly atmosphere and staff. I don't understand the complaints about the service..I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.....if you want 24hr room service, this isn't for you.

The location can't be beat....just steps to the Vista Bahn lift and the Village shops/restaurants.

Gave it a 4 only because it's not a full service hotel with all amenities, but who want s that in Vail anyway?!

When I go back to Vail, I'm going to the Tivoli....no doubt.
