“Hospitality? They're in the wrong business.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

Absolutely clueless.
No shuttle.
$50 drinks.
It's a "four turd ball" property at best.
Anyone who considers this joint is a chump.
No parking. No help. No empathy. No service. Pompous service.
They have no idea what business they're in - certainly not the hospitality business. Stay anywhere else. Tell everyone you know. Turn it into a casino. Keep looking. This place is incredibly out of touch.

Room Tip: Choose anywhere else. Sleep in a ditch.

Thank you for your feedback. I would like to take this time to apologize for your unpleasant experience at our property. I am concerned to hear that you were not informed of the free in-town shuttle service directly across the street in Golden Peak and you were unaware of our parking garage and lot at our property; as this is something we provide to all our guests. If you are referring to our personal shuttle, we apologize for the inconvenience, as we were in transition in getting our new Manor Vail vehicle. I know that we cannot change your experience, but I would like you to know we have heard your concern. We truly appreciate knowing about our guest’s experiences so that we can better serve you in the future. We invite you back to our property in the future in hopes that we can exceed your expectations.

Sincerely,
Nicole Whitaker

We have stayed here several times, most recently in both January and March 2013. Because the rooms are personally owned and decorated, there is a wide variety in what you get with your room. Some rooms (especially some of the studios) are more dated, with very small kitchens. Some of the larger condos, however, are very nice, albeit built in an era with smaller ski condo kitchens and bathrooms. It's worth asking what the room is like when you book. That said, the location cannot be beat, particularly if you like to catch the first chair or have kids in ski school. Manor Vail is literally across the street from the kids ski school and day care at Golden Peak, and also right across the street from one of the main chairlifts. Having two young boys who have spent many days at the Vail childcare and ski school, you can't put a price on being able to walk out the door and across the street to drop kids off the morning. No bus, no car, no parking, just ease of access! On other accounts, Manor Vail is an easy 5-10min walk to the Village, which I like for stretching the legs after a long day of skiing. There are a couple of nice pool areas and a bar/restaurant on-site, if you feel like staying put. There is also room service, with very reasonable options for the kids, if you want to feed them at home without going to the grocery. Service and reservations for us have always been helpful and very accommodating, and we love the heated underground parking and/or parking right outside the unit!

We went to hotwire.com and signed up for a 4 star hotel room. We entered a room with a bed, a bathroom and a kitchen counter 1980's tv. Iv'e been in better motels in podunk town USA. Every motel six I have seen is better. Outside our room was a giant air conditioner. I asked the manager why they advertise it as a 4 star room and she just shook her head and gave no response! What a joke! Spend your hard earned money elsewhere!

Thank you for your response. Manor Vail Lodge is a condominium property with each unit individually owned and decorated. We do not normally guarantee platium units during busy dates due to the limited number of space available. It is to my understanding that you were upgraded from a standard hotel room to a studio unit with a kitchen and living area. Our guests have rated us as a 4-star property and this is not something we advertise but simply other guest’s experiences. I apologize for the problems you encountered, as our staff works to accommodate all guest requests as best as possible. We at Manor Vail Lodge invite you to give us another chance in hopes that we can exceed your expectations.

Sincerely,
Nicole Whitaker

Recently stayed at Manor Vail for two nights in a beautiful king suite with a nice size kitchen and bathroom and plenty of space. The lovely balcony allowed fresh air and cool night time temps to cool off the room as it was hot out in the mountains this July. One outside pool was closed due to someone getting sick in it but the other outside pool was open and very nice. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the mountain view is great. Manor Vail is located just a short walk from the hoppin part of Vail. It is nice and quiet at night and you can easily walk everywhere or take the free trolley. Ford Ampitheater (nightly concerts in summer) and the Betty Ford Gardens are in the back yard and it's fun to take a gondola ride up the mountain and then, hike. We really enjoyed stowing our car in the garage after driving 1100 miles in two days. The parking fee was minimal charge. We walked everywhere or took the trolley. If you are there on Sunday, be sure to go to Vail Farmer's Market which has an excellent assortment of food and treats that you can eat in the nice dining area in the suite.

Room Tip: try creekside for more scenic view

Manor Vail is a great place to stay, quiet, out of the way, yet less than a 5 minute walk to Vail Village. It is adjacent to the bike/walk/run trail and also on the bus route. Across the street is the Golden Peak ski lift. If you stay on the creek side, you can walk out your door and hear/see the water and beautiful mountain scenery. I will stay there again and again!

We just returned form 9 days in Vail Colorado at MAnor Vail. Its our 15 th year there......We have tried other properties during their re-model 3 years ago. But were big fans of Manor Vail for several reasons. First quality of the property. Rooms are great. Views are excellent. its close to Ford Ampitheater . The Golf course is nearby. The Town/village is 3-4 short blocks. We like that because staying in the Village is a bit noiser. You can walk or take the Free Vail shuttle. I cant say enough about our experience with this property. No i`m not related to anyone there nor am i being paid to say anything. I`m actually suspecious of some reviews that sound to good. MY previous career i was a travel agent. I`ve seen most all properties at all Colo ski resorts. I continue to come back And i send my friends to Manor Vail as well. You wont be dissapointed. PS...The Buffet Breakfast it excellent as well. ITs nice they remember my name when i show up. .....Bob E.

Room Tip: Rooms on Mountain Side are preferred for view. Can be sunny. Creek side is cooler but not the great...

This was our second year in a row to stay here for our summer break. It is a wonderful place. A little pricey, but the accommodations and service level are very high. Great location, right next to the Betty Ford Amphitheater, and very convenient to downtown Vail by walking or biking. Stayed here again in July (temperatures during the day were in the mid-70's and at night in the low 50's, no air conditioning, but never did need it. In fact we had to pull a blanket on at night several nights). Great pool with 2 hot tubs. If you drive it costs $10.00/day to park your car in their secure garage. Actually if you did not drive I don't think you would miss your car. We did drive down to Glenwood Springs on 2 different days to bike ride and whitewater raft, but there are many things available in Vail with the same amenities. They have a very well appointed breakfast buffet every morning for additional cost, but each unit has a full kitchen with refrigerator, and we had breakfast in several mornings during our stay. They also have a very good gourmet restaurant on site, but with all of the options in Vail right down the street, we never did it there.Found the 1 bedroom suite to be perfect for our needs with daily maid service. You never really know they are out there, until you come back and find your room picked up. Found wireless internet to be very good. Have a feeling this will be a regular place to stay for our family in the future.

Room Tip: A 1 bedroom will sleep a family of 3/4 very comfortably.
