As you can imagine, a ski resort with no snow is just a hotel. This place could be a bit nicer with some TLC such as painting and updates, but not bad as is. A bit over priced for off season especially with no hot breakfast. It was within close proximity to Lionshead Village, which was nice. There happened to be a car show going on the weekend we were there as an added bonus. Excellent sports bar on the property was the savior of the trip. Winter here must be just crazy, which is what it's all about in Vail.

Room Tip: Ask for a mountain view balcony room if the weather is nice.

And that is how long it has been since last updated. Even at check in they manually scan - with an ink impression copier thing - your credit card. But, everything is clean and tidy. The staff is really helpful and was very friendly. The bar is typically busy with many locals and creates a good atmosphere. It's in a great spot - close to Lion's Head and close to the library bus stop. For the price it's a good deal, just plan to spend your time exploring Vail and not watching flat screens in your room, because there aren't any. Also, free parking is nice, too.

Room Tip: If you stay in the summer, make sure to get the fan from the bedroom, as this place has no AC - and...

My second time staying in this hotel and I’ll not hesitate to stay there again. This is a basic hotel with very few frills and, while it’s old and somewhat outdated, it is clean and the price is about half of what other hotels in the area charge. While there are plenty of outstanding resorts, with wonderful amenities for your once a year, or once in a lifetime vacation experience, there are very few places left that offer good value for people who come to Vail on regular basis to enjoy summer and winter sports. Evergreen Lodge is located within easy walk from Lionshead Village and Eagle Bahn gondola. Free shuttle buses run every 5-10 minutes and offer quick and easy access to both villages. Hotel has indoor hot tub, outdoor pool, sauna and is next door to the ice arena. There is a bar in the lobby.

Room Tip: Bar in the lobby can get noisy at night, try to avoid rooms on first level if possible.

NO A/C and no fans in the bathroom. Other than that, we really didn't have any complaints. Everything was pretty standard hotel. Small TV, but it is a relatively less expensive place to stay compared to the surrounding hotels. Stay here if you plan on stayin less in your hotel and more enjoying the wilderness. The beds were good and we woke up refreshed every morning.

Room Tip: something far from the elevators probably

We stayed at this property because of the price and reviews. The desk manager greeted us with upgraded rooms and recommended the hotel restaurant for our evening meal. The rooms were huge, clean, and comfortable.....better than expected. The bar-restaurant area was packed, so we anticipated slow service....but that wasn't the case. The bartender had his "quicksilver shoes" on an covered the area quickly. The food was great and the service was too. I would stay at the Evergreen again.

We stayed at the Evergreen Lodge for one night on to meet up with some family. I was somewhat dubious because of mixed reviews here, but we weren't planning to spend much time in the room and needed something affordable near the Village. While the lobby did feel somewhat drab and outdated, our room was updated and spotless. Check-in/out staff were efficient and courteous. The pool, hot tub and game room looked great although we didn't have time to use them. It was a lovely, short 5-10 minute walk into the Village. We were on the highway side of the building and slept with the window open. I noticed the sound at first but it really turned into "white noise" and was not bothersome.

All in all, a satisfying stay. Would do it again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back side of the hotel (opposite I-70) may be a bit quieter but we weren't bothered...
