“A GREAT Place to Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2014

The Sebastian was everything I'd heard & more! The facility was gorgeous! The staff bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed, and quickly! The room was large and had lots of drawer & closet space. The fact that bottled H20 and Trail mix was free in the room, and replaced daily was great, and was offered each time you left the premises. The staff was extremely friendly & made you feel like you were their only reason for being there - which is true! The location was great - almost middle of the town, and easily accessible to anything you wanted to see. The Sebastian would absolutely get a return trip from us!

This is an amazing hotel. Kiki from the front desk met us with water in the driveway before we could even get the car turned off. Michael from the bell desk had us equipped with trail maps from his own book within an hour of arrival. During our stay we were driven to and picked up from trail heads and generally made to feel like NOTHING was any trouble at all. They have a kids club with different programming every day too. Rock climbing for the 10 year old set? These people have it down to the last drop of port I wanted for my night cap (thank you Luther).

Stayed here for one night to break up a trip from Moab to Denver. Couldn't believe the price - under $200. For a chance to stay at the Sebastian, that was a deal. Although the hotel was empty, the service was spot on and the valet was quick and friendly.

The location cant be beat and we wish we had more time to stay.

Cheers to the Sebastian Staff.

Stylish, sophisticated and a great place to stay! The staff were amazing and the rooms clean and the beds comfortable! I had a massage at the Bloom Spa and it was fantastic. I also brought my dog along for the trip and was pleased by the attention she got from the staff as well. I look forward to staying there again!

We were in Vail for the GoPro games and only one night at The Sebastian. It was wonderful. This is a beautiful property. Well taken care of with a professional staff eager to help and please. The breakfast was so good and the service top notch. The room was spotless. It's quiet and you are able to walk or take the Vail community shuttle to all areas of Vail. Just walk across the street and hop on; runs about every 10 minutes. Valet park your car in the garage and walk or bus ride everywhere! Enjoy your stay !!!

After looking for accommodation in Vail we settled on the Sebastian. The Sebastian is not on the slopes but does have a ski centre next to the slopes which was the selling point to us. We are not from the USA and have slight accents. Our stay was for 5 nights with the intent to skiing for the entire trip. We arrived at 21:00 hours (we had been in NYC for the previous week ) just as another group was arriving. It seemed fairly quiet and not many staff were on duty. We were tired and after being checked in went for a late supper. After dinner, due to the late hour we just wanted to go to sleep. Our room was accessed through a labyrinth of corridors. Unfortunately the toilet was not working. After notifying reception the maintenance staff rectified the problem within 15 minutes. The next day I discovered one of our bags was missing. After an extensive search by the hotel it was located in another of the guest's rooms. Breakfast day one, coffee. It took three goes to get our order right. The day was blue sky, sun shining, conditions were near perfect. We went back to our studio room to change only to discover that the room was as devoid of light as if it were still midnight. We did expect something better than this. We requested another room and were given one where we traded no natural light for highway noise. Our room package included a fruit bowl as well as additional fruit due to the missing bag incident, we had the bowl but no fruit. Due to not leaving the room till 10:00 hours housekeeping slipped a note under the door to ring them when the room could be cleaned. We did this on the way out. We returned to our room after skiing to prepare to go out at about 17:00. The room had not been cleaned. We then rang housekeeping only to find housekeeping outside our room wanting to turn our bed down for the night. Eventually the room was cleaned at 18:20. By this stage the duty manager had become involved. There were also several other issues with the bar service and getting breakfast in suitable takeaway containers. The hotel advertised luxury towels, ours were anything but. The towels in our room and subsequent ones were threadbare. Day 5 and leaving, the promised additional fruit had never arrived. The duty manager who dealt with our issues and to his credit provided acceptable restitution avoided us on departure. Our Vail experience was not diminished due to the issues we had with the Sebastian. The skiing and weather were amazing, the restaurants were world class. The Sebastian would seem to suffer from a lack of quality control and training. It's noticeable that staff are there to ski as well as work and are not professional hotel staff. Simple process control and process improvement methods would of alleviated 90% of our issues. The hotel was good, staff friendly and helpful, management on the other hand possibly needs a bit of refocusing.

The rooms are beautiful. We went there for a last minute get away at closing day at Vail. We never ended up skiing, and enjoyed a wonderful stay swimming in the pool, and relaxing in the hot tub. iGreat service, and just a beautiful hotel right un the center of all that is happening (but, quiet) :)
