“Nice View, Good Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2012

Huge window facing the mountain and large fireplace combine to create a fun environment. The food is excellent and we love the availability of 1/2 portions. Several nights we ended up eating in the adjacent Fitz bar after listening to live music. Fun!

“quiet spot later in the evening”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2012

The food was really good. We liked that you could order a 1/2 portion. Early in the evening they offer a 2 for 1 meal so it gets packed then. We ate after 8 p.m. and were there alone for most of the meal. Super romantic!

“Delightful and relaxing meal in a very pretty setting.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2012

I visited the The Lord Gore with 6 family members and friends. It offers great food in a comfortable and well decorated dining room that has a fantastic view of the ski slopes. We found it to be a refreshing change from the often crowded and sky's the limit pricing found in many of Vail Village's other high quality restaurants. We enjoyed many wonderful creative twists on classic dishes. For example, the French onion soup baked with a perfect cheese crust added a hint of apple that enhanced the already tasty broth below. Salads were fresh and nicely presented. For entrees the lamb chops were out of this world and the fillet mignon superb, cooked exactkly as we ordered it. One of us had a variation on a meatloaf that was just as interesting as the soup was. The service was friendly and efficient, and the wine list was nice without being overly pricey. The Lord Gore is in the Manor Vail Lodge at Golden Peak, a few yards from the bus stop (I was told they offer free parking to diners arriving by car). Go before it is discovedred by the hoardes just 5 minutes away in the center of the village!
