Walking through Vail Village during the off season and this restaurant was one of the 1/3 of the restaurants in the area that were open for business. Hostess was very nice, had a lovely German accent and offered us a seat outside or in the covered patio area. Weather was lovely, so we chose outside.
Waiter was pretty much like we ran into in Europe. Very stiff and unfriendly.
Wasn't offered a drink menu so asked if they had any hard cider. "NO". "No?" (disbelief) "NO!"
"I'll give you a few more minutes"
After he leaves, I get up and ask hostess for a drink menu.
On the drink menu there are bar appetizers. One of these is a cheese plate. When the waiter comes back, we ask him if we can order the cheese plate and he says, no, not until 3 PM. Ok.
We choose bloody marys, spicy. They were pretty good.
10 minutes later, a table across from us with a different waiter has the cheese plate delivered. Sad face. :(
Husband has Kase Spaetzle and says it's good.
I have the pork bratwurst. Also, good.
Everyone around us is pretty happy with their food choices and everything looks pretty authentic.
Overall, happy with the food and drink. Would have loved to have a hard cider though and a cheese plate. ;)
