“Creative Chef and smooth staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

What a delicious experience! No boring fare here. There is something on the menu for everyone and wine to go along with it. I would reccomend no more than 4 in your party at a time so you can truly enjoy the atmosphere, food and wine. You won't want to be distracted by more than 4 of you at your table as each morsel of food is worth savoring and talking about. Go - enjoy! Arrive before your reservation and get a drink at the bar, they have a great selection of specialty cocktails.

“A must meal in Vail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

There are two option got outside dining, facing village pedestrian walkway or stream. Good service, great wine list. The lamb shank was delicious. We had a fantastic meal and like the special deal of three courses for $45 per person.

“Wonderful Dining Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

If you are a foodie and enjoy a dining experience over just having a meal, then Sweet Basil is a restaurant that you do not want to pass up. Yes, it will be expensive. Even in summer there is no way around it. Though the restaurant is offering three courses for $45 per person for the summer season. The wine list is extensive with something for everyone. The markup is a little high in my opinion but not overly exuberant. This is the place for lamb! The lamb was so tender a knife was not needed. Truly the best lamb you will ever have. I also recommend the pork tenderloin. Do not pass up a house specialty drink while you are looking at the menu. These are excellent. We had the Pimm's Cup and Wild West Margarita with Jalapeno tequila. So tasty! There are many others I wish I could have sampled. Always make a reservation and request a table on the creek. There are outside tables and inside tables on the creek. Since it gets cool in the evening, request a table by the creek but inside the restaurant as you do not want your food to get cold as you slowly savor each bite!

“Great food in an awesome setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

Food was teriffic, well-presented and tasty, portions just right, staff was really accommodating of veg dietary needs of 2 of our party. We came after their normal lunch hours, but the manager set us up anyway. Our table was in back, where we could see the river and the standup paddle racers. This is not our first visit and it definitely won't be our last. They have been in business for 35 years, which is saying something for a restaurant, especially in a town like Vail

“Creative menu and excellent food quality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

My husband and I dined at Sweet Basil on the recommendation of another Trip Advisor reviewer and we were not disappointed. We were there during a time when the chef was offering a $45.00 menu that included an appetizer, main course and dessert. We both had the same appetizer (scallops) there were served with fresh vegetables and in a savory broth. For dinner I selected the salmon and my husband selected the pork chop. Both were wonderful and were presented in a very creative way. For dessert I ordered the donuts which were wonderful, my husband had the Sweet Basil twist on pineapple upside down cake with he thoroughly enjoyed. Overall a lovely experience.

Post Script: That evening I was physically ill and am not entirely sure the salmon wasn't the culprit - I cannot be sure and have not allowed this incident to sway the rating provided.
