“Best Meal in Vail, hands down”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

Before visiting Vail we solicited suggestions from lots of friends about where to eat. Sweet Basil's was the most consistently recommended of all the restaurants in the area and we now know why. I will never come to Vail again without eating at SB. We dined at SB with friends, and all of us love food and have eaten at amazing restaurants. We were universally awed by the quality of the food - every single dish (gnochi paella, salmon terriyaki, filet, ahi tuna, sticky pudding, homemade ice creams) amazed - as well as the service. Sean, a 7 yr veteran of SB, knew everything about the food and the wine list and was one of the best waiters any of us had ever had. The food is really innovative, with each dish striking the perfect balance of flavors, presented beautifully. It's not cheap (>$150 pp including great wine), but was sooooo worth it. If you eat anywhere in Vail, eat here.

“Classic Innovative American”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013 via mobile

Sweet Basil is one of those rare restaurants that for many years has consistently provided creative, highly polished, and well served food. We had salmon and tuna entrees which were excellent and a very tasty side of root vegetables roasted with a slight taste of maple syrup.

“By far the best Haute Cuisine in Vail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

Start with the real-deal Cesar Salad or Tomato Basil soup, then add the Lamb or Pork Chops, or the fresh fish of the day, and you won't be disappointed. Great wine list and the service cannot be beat. In the Village and hard to get into at times, so make your reservations early!

“Vail prices - food quite good.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

We enjoyed our starters 'tapas style', each was delicious and a good choice to begin with. The main meals were in good proportion; the burger, (mortified that hubby ordered a burger!) he said was mediocre and that he's tasted better at fast food joints. My (Colorado) lamb salad was a fresh and healthy option. Did you know there were sheep farmers in Colorado? Wine was pricy - as expected. Ambience = comfortable and clean, best seat is by the window for mountain view. Service = reasonably friendly. No parking near by, you have to pay at the public parking center (5 minute walk) and add another $25 to your bill.
