“Good (though warm) Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

While the exterior of this property does not live up to the on-line pictures (it is a painted, cement block structure), the unit we stayed in was quite adequate and a good value for the area. Comfortable furnishings. Nicely appointed. A well-stocked kitchen. One hint: The units have no air conditioning. We arrived on a very warm weekend and it proved difficult to keep the unit comfortable during the day.

I stayed here with my family, my brother's family, and parents for a week. We appreciated all the free extras, ie, free lunch one day, free wine & cheese & veggies one day, free transportation to Vail Pass bike trail one day, free use of Xbox and games and movies, use of grills. Everything was clean, staff were helpful and friendly, rooms had been updated.
Rooms don't have AC, but we didn't miss it much. Temperatures outside weren't much more than 70, and it cooled off substantially at night.
There isn't an elevator, but we are capable of climbing a few stairs. We weren't looking to be pampered at every step. Vail is a place full of physically fit people, and we didn't miss the elevator.
Also, it is a few minutes away from the very busy downtown Vail area. We appreciated being a little away from the noise and activity.
It is only a minute to the excellent bike path that runs through the area, and a nice park is very close, very convenient if you have kids. Our children loved the swimming pool, and we appreciated the laundry facilities as well.
Is it a 5 star resort? No, but it isn't priced like a 5 star resort either. We had a great week there, and do recommend it to those who don't have to have elevators or AC. First floor rooms wouldn't be a problem for those who don't want to climb stairs. We liked the scenery from our third floor rooms.

My husband and I stayed for a week in July, and we both decided that we would not stay here on our next trip to Vail. While The staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms were very warm and as they advertise, there is no AC. It was very uncomfortable. The unit is clean but nothing special. The lobby is very small and not a place to hang out. It might be a different experience for winter visitors, but we won't return.

We stayed her for a week in June. We do not own a timeshare here. The resort is not fancy by any means, this is not the Four Seasons but we did have a great stay here. The rooms have been updated with granite in the kitchen and bath. there was relatively new carpet. The rooms are very basic, living area with table, decent sized kitchen (fully stocking with anything you would need for cooking, blending ect.) the bedroom was decent sized with a comfortable king bed. The rooms were very clean. The staff were very helpful and were always asking if we needed more towels (maybe because our child lived in the pool). There were multiple gas grills available to use, a free DVD & game rental and even a free cookout one day. There is no AC in the building but we quickly learned you don't need it . The room came with 2 small fans that moved the cool air in, in the daytime. The location was great. The resort is a short walk away from the bike path (which will take you to Vail Village, Lionshead, ect.) also a short walk to a great playground and beautiful walking trails. I would recommend asking to not be placed in one of the dark corner rooms in the back. We were put there first but were able to move to another room. I would recommend this hotel for a causal family trip.

Our extended family of 6 adults and 5 kids (ages 8-12) spent a week at the Eagle Point Resort. We had a great time and found it to be a very family friendly place. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The staff was very helpful and the resort offered many free "little" things: DVDs, Xbox games, free shuttle to the top of Vail Mountain with our bikes, free lunch on Monday, free bike locks to borrow, and more. We found that we got a significant discount on the major activities we wanted to do because we were EP guests. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. We especially liked that it out of town a bit and not in the middle of the crowds, yet close enough to get to local attractions quickly.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

My family stayed here for a week during our trip to Vail, CO. The grounds are clean and well maintained. I saw groundskeepers working every day during our stay. The front office staff was always friendly and accommodating. They have XBOX games and movies available to borrow at no charge during your stay. I was especially pleased when, after checking out, we realized that we left our son's Leapster in the room. The general manager promptly located it and offered to mail it to us. That is GREAT customer service.

Our one-bedroom unit was spotless upon arrival. The kitchen was stocked with everything that we needed during our stay. There is a full sized hand soap dispenser in the kitchen as well as full sized hand soap, lotion, body wash and shampoo in the bathroom. There are plenty extra towels for use in the swimming pool. In the master bedroom closet were more towels, pillows, iron with ironing board, and two floor fans. The bedroom had a ceiling fan, but no ceiling fan in the living room so we used the floor fan at night for our children (on the pull-out couch).

Although the temperatures got down into the 30s and 40s during our stay, the room did get quite hot during the day and the fans just didn't cool us off enough. Air conditioning would have been nice. At night we left our bedroom window open to cool things off, but the cool air didn't make its way into the living room. Why didn't we open the LR window? It opens to the walkway where other patrons frequently walk by and we did not feel safe leaving the window open with our children sleeping there.

The mattress in the bedroom seemed well used and the pillows were lumpy. I woke up achy each morning, missing my bed at home. There is noise from the interstate, but that doesn't bother me. It did, however, bother my husband who is a light sleeper. We ended up closing the window in the early morning when the interstate traffic began to pick up.

There were flat screen TVs in the living room and bedroom. With an XBOX in the living room (for video games and movies) and a DVD player in the bedroom. The kids loved having new video games and movies to enjoy during our stay. This made our time much easier with kids.

There is a "terrace" area between the second and third floors where there are grills, tables, chairs, fire-pit and a hot tub. There is no elevator on site that I saw, so come prepared to go up and down on foot. The laundry room has three washers and three dryers. I did laundry twice during the week and had no problem accessing the facilities.

During our stay, there were lots of families with children. Everyone was friendly and I was happy to see that it wasn't a "party" atmosphere.

Within walking distance is the Gore Creek Trail, bus stop (free), and Donovan Park which is a wonderful place for the kids to play. The Gore Creek Trail goes for miles, although we didn't walk the whole thing. It is about a mile to Lionshead Village and another mile to Vail Village.

PROS: Friendly staff, clean rooms, grounds well maintained, pool, two hot tubs, sauna, coin-operated laundry, video games, movie rentals.

CONS: No A/C in units, mattress and pillows left much to be desired.

Overall, we were very pleased with our experience at the Eagle Point Resort and would definitely stay again.

We had a great time staying at Eagle Point. The accommodation isn't glamorous, but it is well equipped, comfortable and convenient for skiing, with the regular shuttle bus. The hot-tubs were also excellent after a day's skiing - particularly the outdoor one on a sunny evening! What really makes it is that the staff are all really friendly and helpful, sorting out several things for us whenever we asked. The weekly cheese and wine evening and beer evening were also nice touches. This was the first time we'd been to Vail, but from what we heard, this place is significantly better value than most of the other options. Definitely recommended.
