When we opened the door to our room it took our breathe away! Beautiful beamed ceiling, Bavarian style fireplace and pictures, duvets, warmed marble floor in the large bathroom, comfy chairs, complimentary bottled water, and 2 special little touches. A pot of heather (not real but very Austrian) and a tiny package of "gummibearen" on each bed. The entire staff could not have been more helpful, and genuinely pleasant.

We needed to use the internet and there is no charge for computer use. The library/sitting area has 2 fireplaces, books and magazines and several board games.

May is a very quiet time in Vail and many places were closed. In fact after 6pm the streets were virtually empty. However, enough excellent establishments were open to make our dining experience memorable!

If you ski it is only a short walk to the lifts, and if not you have the whole town of Vail at your doorstep to explore, We are hoping for a return visit in December!

We read great reviews about the hotel on this website, and luckily we trusted them enough to stay there. We arrived for a Saturday night stay at 10am, and they were very accommodating and got us our room immediately. As a matter of fact, since Vail was slow that weekend they bumped us to a better room for free. The room was excellent, with exposed beam ceilings, ceiling fan, large bathroom, and gas fireplace. The location was great as it was right in Vail Village. It rained all day and night and they offered us games and DVDs to entertain us while we were stuck inside. Even the buffet breakfast was great!

We'd definitely recommend the Austria Haus.

Wow! The Austria Haus was terrific! The room was more than expected, the breakfast was more than expected, the service was more than expected....I could go on & on. Our stay was hassle free, and the service was great. Each request was met with a sincere smile & desire to help in any way possible. The breakfast was delicious - I really don't know what people are complaining about in that regard! And the price we got was terrific - such a deal! This hotel's location is ideal for staying in Vail - you can literally walk everywhere. I've stayed in Lionshead Village before, and can say I much prefer staying in Vail Village instead. I have only praise for Austria Haus and eagerly anticipate my next stay there!
