“Finer Dining on the Mountain”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

We stopped in for lunch with the kids between runs, and I agree with some of the reviews we did not have a reservation, the restaurant was more than half empty and they acted like it would be too difficult, definitely nonverbal attitude. I asked if we could just sit in the bar area and they said yes that it is first come first serve. Glad we did, the bar area is much more cozy with a big fireplace and TV's but yet still first class. Our waitress was very friendly and we had great service and a great meal. The food is worth the stop, gourmet! We would go back but I will go straight to the bar:)

“Great meal and view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

We dined 4-5 times for lunch and once for dinner at the 10th this past ski season, the most recent last week for lunch. We love the Tenth. The food, view and service are excellent. The only thing I do not like is that even with a reservation you have to wait 5-10 minutes for your table. The lunch menu has a nice range of dishes from light fare to full meals. There is something for everyone. The wine list is very extensive. At most times you will need to reserver well in advance. I would suggest including the Tenth with every ski trip if you like good food and a chance to relax.

“Best Value on the Mountain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

Everything is relative and the 10th Mountain restaurant at Midvale is relatively great. At the cafeteria situated next to the restaurant a burger and fries will cost you $17 while a better burger and fries will cost you $20 at the 10th. For the extra three bucks you get service (for which you should tip), a locker room to take off your gear, and slippers for when you take off your boots. Our friends we were skiing with, who live in Edwards and usually pack their lunch while we eat cafeteria food, felt this was the best value on the mountain.

The restaurant gets extremely crowded and you should call a few days ahead to get reservations. We couldn't get any so we walked in around two o'clock and were immediately seated in the main dining room. There's also bar area seating 60 which is available on a first-come first-served basis all the time.

One of the fun things to do on a sunny day is sit in the outdoor bar area and cheer your friends on as they go down Look Ma.

Finally, keep in mind that you are at 10,000 feet and the chef has to work hard to get food to be as good and as hot as it is. Our group tried the Chicken and Pheasant Pot Pie, the quiche and the Cobb Salad and were happy with everything.

“Great location, beautiful facility. Food &service so...so”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013

Had trouble getting a reservation only to find over half the place empty. The waiter delivered menus promptly and took cocktail orders. However, cocktails took too long to arrive with waiter returning to table empty-handed to take our meal order. We then had to request that our cocktails be delivered prior to placing an order. Timing seemed rushed. The lamb entree was as advertised(very nice), Elk Bolognese over "hand-cut"ziti was overcooked with a congealed glob of cheese on top. Halibut entree was overcooked (dry) and had an odor (returned to kitchen). Had to ask for bread and butter for the table which arrived "rock hard" (also replaced on request). Rabbit special for the night was good. Second cocktail round also took way too long to arrive. All in all, I'd say nice atmosphere, spotty service and food not quite up to a 4 star venue. Go for the views , lunch or après ski..

“Unique expérience, but somewhat snooty”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

We booked a table on Open Table, and when we arrived we learned that we mistakenly booked for the following night. The receptionist was snitty and acted like she was doing us a massive favor seating us in the nearly empty restaurant. It was annoying.
The food is good but not mind blowing-the prices are pretty high, but so is the restaurant. It's memorable, and there are lots of servers. The views are really the best around, and if you can get there before sunset or over lunch, that would be better than arriving in the dark.
We didn't take the snowcat from the gondola, we walked and it was peaceful and beautiful. Wear the right shoes (or boots!)-this is not for high heels!
Dress is nice casual.
