“Wonderful, Quaint, & Great Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2011

We stayed at The Lodge over Christmas for four nights. It was our first time to Vail and we absolutely loved the location, right in the center of Vail Village and right next to the gondola. We had booked a deluxe room, but when we arrived we upgraded to the executive suite. We loved our room and the location of the room was 1/2 flight of stairs to the restaurants, lounge, and exit closest to the gondola. One piece of advice, they will give you a discount card to Vail Sports - do not go there for rentals, they are extremely inexperienced and rude with the rental process. My husband and I had several issues with different equipment. We will definitely be back to Vail and back to The Lodge, we absolutely loved it.

Located right in the center of Vail village & 2 minutes from the lift. The staff was extremely nice and certainly went out of their way to accommodate us. The concierges Kathleen and Brittny were courteous, professional and very friendly. We were able to order from any of their restaurants to our room or to Mickey's piano bar. There was nightly entertainment at the piano bar which made it very Christmas(y)! Our condo had 2 bedrooms, a full kitchen and a natural fireplace. We were on the main floor, facing the pool and the hot tubs. It was perfect. The fitness center was open 24 hrs a day and the equipment was top notch. Our daughter totally enjoyed the spa. My only issue- beds were ok; not the most comfortable ever! Lots of fun with awesome employees. I wish I could remember everyone's name. Our bartender and the server at Mickey's piano bar were great and the piano player made our stay very enjoyable! We loved all the Christmas songs on Christmas night and his immense repertoire on the nights to follow! Great Vacation!

1.) Checked in, went to our room, opened the door with our key card and to our surprise there was a couple of naked people on the bed smoking pot. Front desk assigned us another room a couple of floors up.
2.) Our coffee pot in the room did not work. We got a new one 3 hours later.
3.) At the ExpressLift coffee house the guy serving me my coffee had a napkin wrapped around his dripping blood finger. My coffee cup had blood on it, I had to ask for a new one.
4.) Fire Alarm the first morning. Starting at 8am until 9:30am the fire alarm was going off.
5.) After first day of skiing could not get any hot water. Called front desk, they sent up an engineer at 4pm. He told us he would have to see what was going on in the boiler room and let us know. At 6pm went to the desk to ask what was going on. They told us we were in the old part of the lodge and the best thing to do was turn the water on and let it run for at least 10 minutes or more or until it got hot. We told them we did that and that a guy had been to the room but never got back to us. They said they would check it out. Never heard anything. For the rest of the trip we settled for lukewarm or an intermitient scald of water.
6.) The room was really hot. Our luggage guy turned the heat off for us and said the rooms are always too warm. We left the sliding door open to solve.

The Lodge at Vail was the perfect place for me and my family to stay on our recent ski trip. The condo we stayed in was beautifully appointed and meticulously clean. You cannot beat the location, a 1 minute walk to the Vista Bahn lift (or the Lion's Head, depending upon your preference:-). Everyone from the bell staff to the concierge bent over backwards to make us feel at home. A special shout out to the concierge who spent an extra long amount of time helping us understand the best options for kids' ski school and day care.

Fantastic hotel and great service. There is no hotel closer the the lifts than this hotel. The Lodge at Vail is in the absolute heart of Vail Village. It is impossible to go wrong staying here.

Our extended family including children's spouses and grandchildren totaled 13, so planning a trip that met everyone's needs was a challenge. Our stay at The Lodge at Vail greatly simplified the logistics and provided a diversity of amenities for all to enjoy. The location is perfect, the service outstanding, and the condo the ideal setting for our evening meals and fun. I highly recommend this resort to anyone considering a Vail vacation.

We stayed at the Lodge at Vail for a weekend trip with the family. We were traveling to Vail to take our kids to the VailDaze concerts and selected this property based on it's location (slopeside and near the concert venue). This was our first trip to Vail but it won't be the last and The Lodge at Vail will always be our prefered hotel in the future.
The location was just a perfect as we thought it would be but the level of service far exceeded our expectations. We arrived too early to check in as they were full the night before but the staff handled it perfectly. The bellmen unloaded our stuff and were able to store it for us and provide parking. This gave us the opportunity to hit the slopes until the front desk called us to say our room was ready. It made for a perfect day! Not only did the staff call my wife and I by name throughout our stay, they knew my kids by first names and made them feel especially welcome. The small thing made a huge impact on our whole stay. The bellstaff offered great suggestions, acuarte directions and even a shuttle that took us to the concert at night. We loved our short stay and hope to return again soon.
