“Berry Picker!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

Took the gondola up which was fun for the kids. Great views. Nice long easy ride. Walked around up top and took great panoramic photos - wow, that view! There is a new adventure area with zip lines and a trampoline but it looked expensive and kind of a distraction from the beauty of the mountain. We hiked down Berry Picker and it was great. Even my littlest guy - 5 years old - loved it. He was tired at the end since it did take two hours. But interesting change between trees, open areas, running water, waving at folks on the gondola above, talking to other hikers, saw a marmet just laying out. Remember to take water. We took a ski pole from a barrel at the visitor center and I was glad to use it as my walking stick! We took the path that ended at vail village and kids enjoyed the pirate ship park and putting our feet in the creek right next to it. And the drink at Los Amigos was great, too!

“Brand new gondola”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

We love to hike up Berry Picker trail to the top of the mountain ending up at Lionshead. Took our group of mostly 20 somethings an hour forty. Then we hiked over on easy Lower Fireweed trail to the top of Vail Mountain and had lunch before riding the new Gondoa back down to Vail Village. Great exercise and amazing views!

We rode the Lionshead gondola up and rode down on some trails- it was so beautiful! This is a great way to see the mountain. The staff at the top of the gondola were so helpful.

“Massive ski area, great town and shops.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013 via mobile

Awesome mountain to ski / ride. It's so huge we didn't ride all areas in a week . We were blessed with huge amounts of snow making our best days of riding ever. The town is very nice , posh in parts with nice shops and restaurants. We travelled from Western Australia to ski in Vail and couldn't fault it. A must do if you love to ski. Don't know when but we will be back.
