“Perfect accommodations at Vail Village's edge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2012

Just returned from a long weekend at Vail's Mountain Haus which was highly recommended from a good friend who lived in Vail for 4 years. This was my first trip to Vail and visited with a couple buddies for a ski weekend. The rooms are excellent and we stayed in a 2 BR unit that was mountain-facing - which is really worth the extra money for the view as well as the soothing sounds from the bubbling brook just below. The hotel's location couldn't be more perfect, it's essentially "in" Vail Village, as you walk across a short, modern, covered wooden bridge - maybe 25 yards from the hotel's side entrance - and you're in the Village where all of the great apres ski restaurants, bars and shopping can be had for 3 blocks x 3 blocks wide. Another 75 yards through the Village and you're standing at the base of Vail with a hi-speed quad to take you up to the heavens.

The Haus has a small, but heated outdoor pool and an outdoor and indoor hot tub. A great spa and a very serviceable continental breakfast that's set-up in a conference room each morning.

Staff was excellent, very polite and accommodating and very low-key: there if you need 'em but not all over you, which I love. There's a restaurant and bar in the basement that we did not visit, but the menu was very nice and it was consistently busy each night.

I would highly recommend this hotel when staying in Vail. We will be back again.

Room Tip: Off-season room rates go into effect on April 1, which is ideal spring skiing weather and conditions...

We stayed 5 nights in a two bedroom condo. The hotel is in a great location by the covered bridge and is close to everything. Room was comfortable, clean and the service is great. Cookies and free breakfast are nice additions.

This hotel was perfectly located in the heart of the village. The rooms were also top notch. On my next visit to Vail this will where I hope to stay.

Great staff, location, room. Stayed in large 2-bedroom condo which had all of the amenities you would want -- furnished kitchen, dining room, living room, flat screen, TVs in all rooms. All that but the location seals the deal ... super quick walk to lifts ...

We stayed here last year when there was a mix-up with our vacation rental. We were told it was at the Mountain Haus and when we arrived at 10pm, we had no such rental booked. The staff here quickly offered us accommodations and the next morning we contacted the vacation rental company which had made the reservation at another facility. The Mountain Haus offered us the same price, so we stayed here and loved it. We came back this year with our teenage daughter and a friend and have had an eve better time. The full breakfast is excellent, the coffee and cookies are great, but the best part is the staff. They are warm, friendly, and eager to help. We plan to return again next year.

We were a family of three staying in a one bedroom condo. Upon arrival we were greeted promptly and the second I gave our name, they front desk person was knowledgeable of our reservation. A pleasant surprise was that we were upgraded from a hotel room to the one bedroom condo. Our condo was clean and well furnished. Our bed was very comfortable. We ordered a roll-away for our teenage son, which fit nicely in the living area. This was more comfortable than the pull-out sofa. Having the complimentary breakfast, afternoon cookies, and access to coffee/hot chocolate made our trip more like home. We used the spa every day, and it was clean and well stocked with fresh towels. We stayed in a condo with a village view, and next to the elevator. The room was very quiet. The only drawback was that our room was very warm. The staff checked the thermostat immediately, and explained that it was working correctly but the room location was next to the main duct work and caused the room to be warm. We were told the property is in the process of updating the system. We used all the amenities, including the concierge service to purchase groceries.

I would say that this property is ski in/ski out for Vail Village. You have a short walk to the lifts and being right across Vail Transporation Center makes it easy to grab a cab, shuttle or bus. With the Vail transporation we do not rent a car when staying in the village.

I would recommend this property.

Room Tip: Select a room away from the main property duct work if need cooler temperature.
