“Very nice stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

A interesting hotel with large bedroom rooms decorated nicely Thai style. It is in a good location in Jomtien and the service is superb. Breakfast for two was included and you can park safely outside with security. Went away for two days and they stored my case and golf clubs, which was very useful. Certainly will stay again!

Room Tip: Ask for an upstairs room.

when you read the reviews about this hotel everything sounds so good. In fact it is a very average hotel for that price range in Pattaya. The rooms are very big about 42 sq. meter. fully contained but the kitchen only has 2 plates . 2 spoons, 2 bowls so it is a total waste of space to have a kitchen with hot plates etc but that did not bother me as i do not want to cook while travelling in Asia.
My main problem I had with the hotel was the unfriendly staff, lousy breakfast and everything seemed to be a problem.I had thia friends come to the hotel and they were not impressed when they asked could they stay 4 nights and pay 3 as promotation said .Answer was no because they had checked out. The hotel was emply so a little PR would go a long way as these people are wealthy Thais. Yes the management was technically correct but they were asking for an additional room as their business was not complete.
The result of above problem was that they found a room next door for 800 instead of 1550 baht.
Also when you read reviews in guest book also very impressive so not sure what planet some people come from. maybe I am to experienced with Thailand to know what is good standard and what is average.

Room Tip: my honestly think you can find better value hotels which provide a buffet fot breakfast for 1550per...

Stayed at the Nirvana for one evening while exploring Pattaya with a friend. Booked on his recommendation from previous experience and I was not disappointed for the price at all. I thought the location up a small soi was OK and very central within Jomtien, but it obviously does not leave much opportunity for an outlook/view. The room itself was very good with (virtually) full kitchen facilities, fridge, dining table, huge comfortable bed, a safe and a balcony. The bathroom is nicely styled with a huge bath and good quality shower. The pool is basic and could do with some renovation work on the surrounds, but it would suffice if you were desperate for a swim (sunbathing options are limited so you are better off on the beach I would guess). The breakfast options were fine and we were served quickly on the day we departed, so in all I thought for the rack rate price of 1,550 THB the Nirvana was good value and served its purpose. I've seen other TA reviews in relation to the attitude of reception staff etc etc but did not encounter any such issues.

Room Tip: The ground floor rooms appear to have balconies that go virtually straight into the street, so perso...

Stayed here some months ago by chance. It's got a resort-ish feel to it, somewhat like an extra big, red-tiled house with extra large rooms. Note that 'house' means, like any, it's got a used, relaxed feel to it; the rooms are too huge for one person, as its really like an open floor apartment. The large, red floor tiles threw me though, as it was bothersome walking barefoot on the wide gaps in between each tile. The doors, with their native feel (no standard key-card lock here), do not seem secure. The balcony faced the small road along which guests walked a bit to get to the Jomtien beach. One would pass various bars, small restos, pubs along the way, with some market stalls at the end, by the boardwalk. Sound proofing was not so great at night, as happy singing voices from some bars below could carry up into the rooms. LIKES: room service 'authentic' Italian pizza was cheap and delicious, though actually collected from a nearby resto. Free Wifi!

Room Tip: unless already improved, dont stay at the room at the end of the hallway on the second floor. it'...

This is the worst hotel I ever stayed in during my 35 years for travel. Where did they get the staff? Very unfriendly, rude, bad communication even in basic English, loud mouthed front desk staff and the hotel charges 2,800 baht per night? Breakfast was bad, at this price, I can stay at Siam Bayshore that serves a delicious buffet with over 100 items to choose from. And the service is 100 times better.

Mosquitos and ants in the room, terrible Internet connection, had to ask for soap several time, worst is that loud mouth rude unfriendly day staff has a bad attitude. She is one of those dragon ladies with an attitude.. You can only get 1 beach towel per guest, if you get 2, she will not hesitate to show you her dismay and show you who's boss. She is like and evil step mother and will make you feel that it is going to be my way or the highway, like get the hell out I don't need your business. This all happens AFTER you prepay. When you check in, you have to pay the full amount with no refund if you decide to leave early. We have to carry our own heavy luggage up several flights of stairs since there is no elevator and the bell boy was absent. As such, we are totally at their mercy since we already paid the full amount (2800 x 14 nights) with 3 percent credit card surcharge. What at a terrible 2 week experience at this hotel imagine that you have to deal with her everyday, giving her and getting back the room keys with such an unprofessional and rude behavior. Thailand the land of smile does not exist with this dragon lady. This hotel needs to hire some tourism industry professionals.

We had stayed at the Nirvana hotel several years ago and received a great deal, with equally great service. Being a boutique hotel, it WAS a great improvement over the run of the mill hotels, but that has changed....

We came to the Nirvana quite suddenly after having had a security breach at another "boutique hotel' where we were staying. We requested a room for 2 weeks and, because we were staying for an extended period of time, we asked for a discount. The manager and her assistant declined to give us any consideration for our urgent situation. The room rate was fixed and was to be paid in full upon check-in with NO REFUNDS what so ever...even for emergencies. We should have left right then and there as things went downhill within the next few days.

First of all, inadequate security became an issue. After checking in the room, we found that the balcony doors do not lock properly and could be opened easily. There are safes in the room but they may not accommodate laptops. The balcony doors had to be secured with strategically
placed rocks to jam the doors shut. Laptops had to be locked in our suitcases.

Secondly, the hotel provides towels for guests to use for their small pool, but everyone takes them to the beach after signing for them. The towels are older, with frayed edges, certainly not something that would be used in the guest rooms. We took four towels as to adequately cover the lounges at the beach. When we returned from the beach, we were chastised by the day staff at the front desk for taking more towels than we were allowed...1 towel per person two towels per room max.

My friend felt that there was no logic to the "boutique" hotel's two towel policy and felt that he should discuss his request for 2 towel per guest. After listening to him for 20 seconds, she blew him off, claiming not to understand english, and immediately called the manager to the front desk. The manager listened to my friend and then reiterated the hotel policy of 2 towels per room. He again asked her to listen to his explanation, she then stated that they didn't have enough towels for all the guests to use at the beach. He stated that this was a beachside "boutique" hotel and maybe they should purchase some more towels to adequately fill the needs of the guests.. She then stated that the laundry wasn't able to pick up, launder, and return enough towels within a day.. The excuses kept coming..with no resolution of the issue..... The manager and the front desk assistant, then, made sure that an insufficient number of beach towels were left out each morning. I don't think the staff should get into an heated open ended discussion over a simple request of 1 additional towel for the beach lounge bed. We were required to "ask" for 2 towels every morning for 12 days.

Things became extremely impersonal from that moment on. We were never acknowledged and heavily ignored by any day staff members other than the bellboy. No one would even look at us for the remaining time there. We also noticed that the day time staff do not really communicate with any of the hotel guests. And remember "NO REFUNDS" "NO EXCEPTIONS". The vacation became increasingly uncomfortable each day when we had to give the key to the front desk woman.. she would grab it and not utter a word. The overall stay at this hotel was very unpleasant. A personal vendetta from the day staff over two frayed, old towels that should have been tossed in the trash.

A high priced "boutique" hotel should provide personal, individual, and attentive service to its guests. If it cannot or will not, it should remove the "boutique" name. Staff at a "boutique" hotel should understand what the word implies. They should especially understand that their paying guests deserve more individual consideration and behave in a business like manner, regardless of what their personal feelings are.

I do not recommend this hotel simply because of the high price (we paid about US$93 per night) with lack of service. Breakfast was inadequate, coffee terrible, internet is inconsistent, and worst of all very unfriendly staff. The day staff is uneducated, spoke broken english that was very difficult to understand, unprofessional, loud and vulgar. At this price, there are much better hotel choices around Pattaya and Jomtien beach area. I would definitely stay away from Nirvana Boutique Hotel.

Stayed in a studio, a 40 sqm large room that even got a kitchen, -but no cooking utilities at all, have a kitchen for what?
The bathroom got a very large bathtub, good for 2, and the bed and bed linen is one of the best I slept in, and the room is very well cleaned.
The breakfast is ok, but poor for a boutique hotel.
The pool area can only be reach from the street and the pool is small and wooden deck feels not safe.
The front desk staff was correct but not very friendly and charging 3% when you pay by credit card, for a full paid room not booked over an agent, thats cheep !
We also tried to book a van back to airport, the answer was, can not, and for a taxi they wanted 200 more then booked on the street!
