I was very disapponted with our stay at the Peaks. The hotel presents itself as a luxury property, but they do not carry through with this on a service level. The bright spots here were our room, a generous size, though a bit dated, with a beautiful view of the mountains, and the service at the ski valet was excellent. Also access to the slopes is great. Now the bad. The concierge did not follow through with requests. When I checked in, I had to wait several minutes for the front desk employee to finish her personal call. At check out, there was a billing error and this same employee told to me go down to the pro shop to investigate the charge instead of her doing it for me. It was eventually resolved to be their mistake. It took 3 calls to get my luggage to the room. It took 3 calls to get dog bowls delivered....the peaks advertises itself as being pet firendly, but they did nothing to welcome my pet, yet they charge $150 pet fee. Housekeeping was poor, dirty glasses were never replaced, our terrace was full of cigarette butts. The buffet breakfast was very low quality. Our service in the Great Room was ok, but no one working at the hotel seemed cheerful or even happy to be there. The Peaks is planning to renovate into a condo hotel starting in April, and they currently have a big marketing campaign to sell condos. So everywhere in the hotel is ads to sell you a unit.....in the coffee house, lobby, down by the ski valet, even in our bathroom. I did bring up some of my issures with management, and I was compensated for the service flaws. I hope The Peaks will take time to focus on their service issues while they renovate their facilities.
