We just arrived back home at 2am this morning! We had a lovely 4-day weekend at the Peaks and truly enjoyed the R&R! This was during the 3-4 week off season, which again, we loved! We live in Orlando and deal with enough tourists that we enjoyed having this place very low-key. I called to book the room directly through the hotel and received the same rate as I found on the amex website. In fact, when we checked in, they upgraded us free to the suite! I was so suprised when we opened the door. We had the sunset suite with a balcony and the views were gorgeous! So, check-in....A+
Concierge Service....A++
We had Maegan's help the whole time. In fact I called her just after we booked the room and she scheduled for a car service to pick us up at the Telluride airport and to take us back for our departure. Once we were there she phoned around town to see what resteraunts and activities were open (since it was the off-season), and made reservations for us, planned an awesome fly fishing trip, and catered to our every whim!!! All we had to do was fill out a form for our fishing license and everything else was 100% taken care of! (Telluride Outdoor was awesome! The fly-fishing trip was worth every penny!)
Maid Service...A+
We never had any problems with cleanliness. Once we were changing into our bathing suits for the spa when they came to clean the room and we asked if she could wait a couple of minutes, and she politey waited in the hall until we left, then cleaned our room!
Food Servcie...A+
Very prompt and courteous! The breakfast from the great room was very good every day! The lift had good salads and snacks, fo a more casual meal. Just a fair warning (and nothing related to the hotel itself) but all of Telluride's resteraunts are a bit pricey. We bought some soda and water at the market and kept it in our fridge. One thing I should have done from the beginning, check the phone book in your nightstand, and go under restaraunts in the yellow pages. We found a couple that delivered for free and were a great price! I'm a simple girl and a lot of these restaraunts are very "frou-frou" to say the least.
Customer Service...A+
We noticed the second day there that the humidifier wasn't working properly. We called downstairs and someone came in like 5 minutes and fixed it! We casually mentioned that the batteries in our remote were dying (not that it would be the end of the world!) but he radio'd someone and they were there instantly with a new remote. It was crazy how fast and nice they were.
Overall....A+
I can't say anything bad about this hotel! We loved our massages at the spa, the kivas were so clean and luxurious...okay one little bad thing. The jacuzzis, along with the spa, closed at 6pm. I found myself wishing the jacuzzis were open later when I was sore from hours of wading in the river fly fishing. This minor complaint in no way tarnished my experience! I would go back in a heartbeat! PS-landing in Telluride is not for the weak of heart! If you are afraid of flying or even a little bit of turbulance, land in Montrose and take the hour drive!
