“Great Ski Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

Overall this hotel was great. There were a few things that I didn't like but that is expected with any hotel I think. Let me describe the location: This hotel is in Mountain Village and is built into the slopes. It has a ski valet, which allows you to ski in and ski out at your leisure (they keep your boots warm too!). The hotel requires that you valet your car, which for the location is probably better that way. It is not far from the main village where you can eat, drink, ski and take the gondola to the main town of Telluride. This was our first time to Colorado, ever so we did not have expectations going in. The price of the hotel is a little pricey but with the location is acceptable. Our mattress (king) was very comfortable throughout our stay. The room had a separate shower and tub, the shower head could have been upgraded but the tub was great.
We did not eat at the resort as I felt there was better local food in Telluride. We did not experience the room service, food or cleaners- so I cannot comment on that.
Now onto the Spa- they boast that it is the largest spa in Colorado. From my experience with spa's it was okay. I did not get any service at the spa, just took advantage of the access I had during my stay. The common areas include a lap pool, fitness room, slide, indoor/outdoor pool, indoor hot tub, outdoor hot tub, steam room and sauna. The pool was great, the slide was fun, steam room was nice, but the sauna could be MUCH hotter. There were also separate (men/women) locker rooms with showers and a hot tub. When I entered the spa, there was no attendant at the women's locker room, which was confusing to me. I took a robe and shoes and attempted to learn the locker system- not too hard. After lounging in the pool/hot tub I went to take a shower. The showers were not very clean, used towels and toiletries. I feel they could improve on the cleanliness of the spa. I would also like to see a bar service by the facilities in the winter.
Overall we would stay here again.

Room Tip: Don't get a room right off the elevator- It can be loud.

Front desk extremely rude. Ask for itemized bill when checking out as they will overcharge. In fact they were very rude about providing us with itemized bill. We were double charged daily with resort fee and parking valet which is $50 extra per day. Only redemption is the ski valet

Dear Ptownfamily5.
Thank you for your review. I am extremely sorry that you found our front desk staff to be rude when providing your bill. We have reviewed your comments with our entire team and appreciate you taking the time to express your concerns. I am glad that the bill came out right in the end and hope you recognize that the additional resort fee which we are clear to convey when booking includes our wonderful ski valet which we are confident is the best in the west.
Should you wish to discuss this further please contact me at 970-728-2509.
Best regards,
David Ciani

This Spa Resort has the easiest ski in/out access. I have been skiing in Telluride every year for 25 years and stayed in several places including two ski in/out homes, however, nothing compares to this. The spa is one of the top three I have ever been at anywhere and the views and location cannot be beat.

Transportation from this hotel around the ski area and town is easy and beautiful. The dinners are great, but the breakfast and lunch are a little weak. Don't be discouraged thou because there are several places to eat near by.

Summers are great too. Access to golf and tennis along with hiking, fishing, biking, rafting etc.

The area is beautiful.

One of the best skiing areas in the US is complemented by a great resort on the mounain. The peaks in Mountain Village is built into the slopes in Telluride CO. A gondola connects the resort with the village below. This was the second time we went to the Peaks for our ski vacation and it's well worth it. The spa is excellent and part of the standard service is a ski valet service that has your skis on the snow and ready for you as you exit he door on the slope. The rooms are adequate and the service is good. The cost is in line with the better B&Bs in the village.

Management, housekeeping, breakfast restaurant all improved, Ski/Boots valet service outstanding all week. One weakness was foldout couch springs; had to move mattress to floor for week. Good location, excellent breakfast.

Room Tip: Avoid a room on the 40story atrium-noisy. Don't plan to have an adult sleep on the fold-out cou...

After a couple days of skiing I went to the Peaks Spa. It was a very clean and nice spa but it was huge. The receptionist were not very friendly, but the rest of the staff were. I got the one hour body scrub and ginger oil treatement. It was a wonderful. The staff was professional and very good at communicating with clients. My skin felt great and so did my tired aching muscles.

Room Tip: Book ahead of time. You will have more options for treatements. Get there early and bring swimsuit...

Thank you for your review. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the spa and your treatment. Many don't know that the Spa at the Peaks is Colorado's largest spa and offers much more than just traditional spa treatments. Our entire team of skin professionals are very customer focused and well skilled. We hope to see you in the spa for some more pampering soon! Thanks again.

We ate dinner during the sunset and the food was very good. It was a bit pricey, but well worth it. Ski in and ski out was wonderful. Never had to handle our skis. The room was very comfortable and the staff did an excellent job of cleaning. We were with a large ski group and not a soul had any complaints the entire week.. try to top that one..

Dear Dawn6711,
Thank you for posting a review of your recent ski trip. I am so happy that you and your entire ski group enjoyed the Peaks. We are blessed to have one of the most amazing views in the world right from our lobby, restaurant, bar, and deck. There is no easier ski-in/ski-out access and the ski valet staff are simply fantastic. We can't wait to have you and your group back again. Thank you!
