“Not impressed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2011

We were expecting a four-star hotel. This place is just a nice, bare-bones lodge. Parking was a problem. The location is not so good for summer activities, since it is not in the main part of town (may be good for ski-in, ski-out, though). Overall, we liked Telluride but would not stay at this hotel again.

“Please read: Every Telluride Lodge Condo is very Different”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2010

I have stayed in a few of these and wanted folks to know that every condo is independently owned. This is not a hotel. Some people live here full time, some part-time, some rent, etc. Some condos are very, very nice as they have been completely stripped and remodeled and are worth about $1,000,000. Many are in near original condition (1974) and are in very poor repair. You must ask about the condition of the condo you are renting.
The upside of Telluride Lodge is that we have 3 acres of common space (think lawns), attached to grocery store, walk to ski lift, in town, but away from the noise of main street, good permitted parking, emergency maintenance on-site. We also have a brand new common area Hot tubs (2) and steam shower that cost $200,000 to build. The downside is that Telluride Lodge is an older complex, the buildings look like they are from the 70's and the layouts are split-level style. Overall the common areas are kept in good condition, but they are not fancy. Inside of each condo you may find a treasure or a rundown "get me outta here" place. Ask, before you go.

“Its where you want to be”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2010

I’ve stayed din different units in at this facility over several years. It is a bit hit and miss as far as quality of the room. I have not been in any that were terrible and a few that have been quite nice. The town is small enough to walk where you need to go for dinner. Clark’s Grocery is attached to one section of the units.

“Unit 314 Telluride Lodge was perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2010

We planned a last minute weekend trip to Telluride. Due to MLK holiday most rooms were booked over that weekend or just super expensive. We found Telluride Lodge and it was a perfect fit for us and our 10 year old daughter The unit was surprisingly large with a muli level floor plan, two bathrooms, one with a jet tub and the other with a newer shower. The unit looked as it was decorated with IKEA type furnishings. The full sized kitchen offered butcher block island and all the dishes you would need to make a sunday dinner including wine glasses and Calphalon pots and pans.. The living room had a DVD player and a flat screen tv. The unit has a mud type room with full washer and dryer. There is a small deck with access to the parking area off the dining area. regardless of what past reviews mention that the property is not downtown Telluride then they must be too lazy to walk a couple of blocks to get an amazing meal and/or drink. There is also a really nice grocery store behind the hotel so you can stock up with everything you will need. Lift 7 is just an easy, short walk from this property. If you do not want to walk a few blocks for dining or to the lift you may not want to stay here , but if you are looking for a good value in expensive Tride in a decent location then check out Telluride Lodge #314. There is also a free bus that takes you around Telluride including the Gondola. If you are looking for a fair priced, quick lunch or breakfast got to Baked In Telluride for bagels or homemade tacos. For dinner we really enjoyed Rustico. Decent food and good service.

“Telluride Lodge #525 - not a nice experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2009

2 adults and 2 kids stayed in Telluride Alpine Lodge #525 for the Bluegrass Festival. The unit smelled very musty and moldy just like we were staying in someone's basement. It is in desparate need of updating and repair. The kitchen is old with ripped flooring. The bathroom is down another flight of stairs with a very bizarre and inconvenient layout. This was not at all worth the festival rate we were paying. We stayed one night and checked in to another unit.

Winter 2012: Telluride Lodge #525 has gotten a few updates, and expelled the musty smell. Still a split-level floor plan, though.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
One of the largest condominium complexes in Telluride, the Telluride Lodge sits on 5 acres of park-like setting with BBQ stations and plenty of grassy areas in the summer. For guests during the winter season – skiing and other activities are close by with lift 7 right across the street. Approximately one-third of the condos are available for Vacation Rental, in sizes from Studio to 3-bedroom. Each apartment has its own individual style, but all are based on a split-level floorplan. Every residence has a full kitchen and living room, wireless internet access, and parking on site (limit one car per unit). In fall 2011, the new hot tub - one outdoor, one indoor - and steam room reopened for residents' use. Just to the north of the complex is a grocery store and visitor center. Just to the south is the San Miguel River and Telluride Ski Area lift #7. And historic downtown Telluride is 5 short blocks away. ... more   less
