“Nice museum to learn about mining, trains and old snow skis”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

Liked looking at the old skis, about the local mining from years ago as well as the trains that ran through the region. $5 admission is well worth it if you are into some history of places like Telluride.

“A wonderful museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

This mountain top museum is set in the residential area of Telluride. We walked from our friends house a few blocks over to this wonderful museum. You feel as though you are entering someone 's private home where they have loved and cared for every detail of this special place.
We took our time, roamed every room and outside in the mining area. I wanted a picture of the Indian weaving but none were allowed. Tried to find a book with a detail of this design.
Please take the time to go to this museum first off when you get to Telluride. You will appreciate the area and its history. Those settlers where certainly hardy folk! We were glad to pay the small admission price and a donation to assure that it stays open for all to see.

“A little gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

For anyone wanting to learn more about the history of Telluride, this little museum is definitely worth a visit. Although a mining town with its share of saloons and brothels, Telluride had a population that was also interested in culture and society. The museum shows both sides with lots of interesting photographs and artifacts.

“Very quaint interesting museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

This is a good place to visit and it gives you a historic view of Telluride. It's small but the space has been well utilized. It covers many aspects of the town's history and the staff are very friendly.
There is a $5 per person entry fee, but it is well worth it.
