We had planned the 1/2 day trip to Imogene Pass with Telluride Outside and were graced with "Roma" as our tour guide. Roma is a near life-long resident of the Telluride area and this experience shines through during the tour. He fascinated and engaged us with his great stories and historical recollections of the Tomboy mine, the trek up the mountains and life at 10,000 ft.
The tour was absolutely amazing and offered many breath-taking views of the San Juan mountains and the valley below. Even though we visited in late June, the adventure to 13,000' included views of still melting snow and really cool temps. The view from the top is beyond words, but if I have to describe it, the view is nothing short of gorgeous.
Roma's experience as tour guide was a large contributing factor in the positive experience we had. He's very personable with a great sense of humor and likable personality. As he says, he loves his job. :)
