“Great Place to Stay in Telluride”

The Hotel Telluride

Feb 11, 2008

My wife and I just returned from a week long ski vacation in Telluride. Our entire stay at the Hotel Telluride execeeded our expectaions. Our room was well decorated, had a small fridge, microwave and the essential dishes to prepare snacks. Although we were about 2 blocks from the slopes, our room overlooks the slopes that come down into the town of Telluride. Transportation to and from the lifts (2-3 blocks away) was very convenient by either the hotel shuttle or the free public transportation system. Typically we took the hotel shuttle to the slopes in the morning and came home on the public shuttle. Once we called the hotel shuttle prior to our last run and they were there to pick us up when we hit the bottom of the slope.

The hotel has a great staff, enjoyable lobby area and a fantastic free breakfast. While making our reservations we went back and forth about if we should stay in the mountain village (resort side of the mountain) or the Town of Telluride. We picked the Town of Telluride and were very happy with our choice as there are many more shops and places to eat in town.

The next time that we go back to Telluride, we will stay at the Hotel Telluride.

“Lovely Stay”

The Hotel Telluride

Feb 11, 2008

The Hotel Telluride is comfortably small (cozy and intimate) with excellent amenities, an incredibly courteous and helpful staff, and very nice rooms. The breakfast in the morning is very satisfying, lots of choices. Given area rates (Telluride is expensive), The Hotel Telluride is a bargain, and it also exceeds my expectations given experiences I've had with other "luxury" hotels.

“A Nice Place To Stay”

The Hotel Telluride

We stayed at the Hotel Telluride for a weekend vacation in the snow and it was just great. The hotel was just what we were looking for for a romantic getaway.

The hotel is small and cozy but has all the amenities one expects. Our reservations and check-in was completed quickly, and our bags were waiting in our room by the time we'd parked our car. The service was excellent at every encounter we had, be it reception, bistro, bellmen, cleaning staff, turndown... everything!

There are several reasons that we will stay there again. The Bistro is really convenient and a nice touch, and the lobby/sitting area is a nice place to unwind. The hotel offers a free "shuttle" which took us to wherever we wanted to go, gondola, restaurants, etc. with hardly any wait. But the hotel is within easy walking distance to the main part of town and afforded us a nice opportunity to get out and about too.

The room was nice and for the most part, comfortable. The room had a nice little balcony and a great view. The heater worked great and the room temp adjusted very quickly. We were disappointed with the "Incredible Bed" as it wasn't all that incredible in my opinion. The mattress was very firm (hard) despite the pillowtopper, the sheets were rough, the blanket scratchy, and the comforter seemed to weigh a ton.

Overall, we were very pleased with the hotel and enjoyed our stay very much.

“Great Hotel Except Rough Night Sleep”

The Hotel Telluride

Jan 7, 2008

The hotel lobby is warm and inviting. The staff is polite and friendly (except the cook at the complimentary breakfast was rude). Our room was comfortable and aesthetically pleasing, but the sheets were like sand paper. They needed fabric softener or a new set of different sheets. The pillow was too puffy and put a crick in our necks. We slept very poorly in a beautiful room. Otherwise, the hotel is a very good experience. If you value your sleep, you need to check the sheets and pillow personally before accepting a particular room.

“Great spot to go”

We had never been to Telluride before and booked this hotel for a four night stay right after new years, relying on reviews and the hotel web site. We were very pleased; this is a very comfortable, friendly place. The lobby was very cozy, great chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon along with hot mulled cider and a very helpful front desk. The breakfast is plentiful and good, rooms very quiet and comfortable. And the shuttle service to the gondola is always there.

I have traveled a lot and for this family of three, this was a great spot to go. I would highly recommend it; also really like the size of the hotel as it is more intimate than some of the larger properties we have stayed at and again, a very friendly staff.
