We had never been to Telluride before and booked this hotel for a four night stay right after new years, relying on reviews and the hotel web site. We were very pleased; this is a very comfortable, friendly place. The lobby was very cozy, great chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon along with hot mulled cider and a very helpful front desk. The breakfast is plentiful and good, rooms very quiet and comfortable. And the shuttle service to the gondola is always there.

I have traveled a lot and for this family of three, this was a great spot to go. I would highly recommend it; also really like the size of the hotel as it is more intimate than some of the larger properties we have stayed at and again, a very friendly staff.

My husband and I stayed in the Hotel Telluride this past March, it was the BEST choice we've made in traveling. First let me explain that we are a young married couple (30 and 40 years old...ok, not SO young!) but no kids. We went to Telluride for our honeymoon. Well, after doing extensive research, and pulling out my hair reading millions of reviews, we went with the Hotel Telluride. The SECOND we pulled up to the door we were immediated greeted by warm and friendly staff who were more than willing to help us with anything we needed (luggage, bags, information, skiing, things to do, restaurants). The lobby is GORGEOUS, inviting and looks like an upscale luxury lodge. Our room was on the second floor, and was a suite with a separate living room and balcony. If you can swing it, go for this room! It had a kitchenette, dining table, couches and a beautiful fireplace. Our view was of the mountain- you can't beat that. I'm pretty sure that any view you get at this hotel would be amazing, only because it is surrounded by mountains and rolling hills.
Also, the hotel uses Aveda products- so no crappy cheap stuff. The bed is super comfortable and the rooms are extremely quiet. We are sleepers, and there was no noise (from skiiers/boots) in the morning hours.
Breakfast at the hotel is complimentary, and is incredible. Really, there was everything you could imagine. Bagels, muffins, pastries, fresh fruit, oatmeal, bacon, pancakes/waffles, cereals- to much to list. And everything was tasty. If there was something special you wanted, like an omelet or eggs over-easy, then you just ask the chef and they make it for you. YUMMY.
Also, at 4 pm every day, there are warm fresh cookies and tea/coffee in the lobby. I feel like the Hotel Telluride really knows how to put those extra 'touches' into place. No detail was left out.
Also, you can either walk OR take the hotel's free shuttle into town. We walked almost everytime. At night it's great because you are so close to the restaurants, we would get a lift from the hotel, get dropped off, eat and drink a LOT, and then walk back to the hotel.
There is one more thing: THERE WERE NO KIDS. Yipee! Don't get me wrong, kids are great and all, just not when I'm on vacation. Yes, there were teens (who cares?) but there were no strollers, screaming kids, running up and down the halls...you know the drill. I'm not saying the hotel isn't kid-friendly, I'm just saying that it doesn't cater to the little ones. It was all adults. Perfect for us!
There is so much more I could write. Feel free to send me a message if you want to know more info.
Thank you Hotel Telluride!!!

“Fine Place to Stay in Telluride”

The Hotel Telluride

Telluride is a small town, so you can either stay at the Mountain Village (5 minutes away also connected by gondola) or in the main part of Telluride. The Hotel Telluride is located on the edge of town, but within short walking distance from most of the highlights. The Hotel is nice and comfortable. The room was clean, had very nice amenities, including a refrigerator, microwave and a small balcony.

What impressed me most was the service. From the check in, to shuttle rides, to making reservations at a local restaurant (try Rustico for Italian), everyone was extremely helpful and pleasant. Additionally, there is a very nice breakfast included in the stay which includes higher quality food and made to order items as well.

Most of the hotels are more expensive in this resort area, so this hotel seems like a good choice, despite the higher rate.

“Great hotel, beautiful town, friendly staff - stay here!”

The Hotel Telluride

Not having been to the Rockies before, this was the best reviewed hotel we could find that was open and affordable - we weren't disappointed! Hotel Telluride is modern and very well equipped but with old-style charm and hospitality, alpine type structure, a short walk from the shops and eateries of Main Street in the village.

Nice rooms, our's had a small but private balcony overlooking the valley floor and mountainscape, past the river. Good bathroom, beautifully made beds and very comfortable with kitchenette sofas and easy chairs, all in a very compactly designed room. The lobby is very pretty and the bar/restaurant area is small but comfortable, the breakfasts are surpisingly good. The staff are what make this hotel; friendly and very informative, easy to talk to and full of local informations and tips - just what you need. The only downside is expensive parking beneath the hotel, though we found free parking spaces infront of the hotel every time - that's sure to be an issue in-season.

Very good access if you're travelling into Telluride from the rest of the Rockies as it's just on your left as you approach the village, after the turn off up to Telluride Airport atop the plateau and walking distance for the gondola to Mountain Village and skiing.
We'd go back here tomorrow!

After checking out of a hideous condo we found refuge in this amazing hotel! We would love to stay again and enjoy the great hot tub outside, and luxurious accomodations just a short few blocks from skiing and town! The front desk was very helpful and courteous, the chef (Eric) was so nice and made us some delicious food! and the bartender (Will) made our stay very special! We loved our time spent at this wonderful hotel and can't wait to return and relax and enjoy the great staff!
