My husband and I stayed in the Hotel Telluride this past March, it was the BEST choice we've made in traveling. First let me explain that we are a young married couple (30 and 40 years old...ok, not SO young!) but no kids. We went to Telluride for our honeymoon. Well, after doing extensive research, and pulling out my hair reading millions of reviews, we went with the Hotel Telluride. The SECOND we pulled up to the door we were immediated greeted by warm and friendly staff who were more than willing to help us with anything we needed (luggage, bags, information, skiing, things to do, restaurants). The lobby is GORGEOUS, inviting and looks like an upscale luxury lodge. Our room was on the second floor, and was a suite with a separate living room and balcony. If you can swing it, go for this room! It had a kitchenette, dining table, couches and a beautiful fireplace. Our view was of the mountain- you can't beat that. I'm pretty sure that any view you get at this hotel would be amazing, only because it is surrounded by mountains and rolling hills.
Also, the hotel uses Aveda products- so no crappy cheap stuff. The bed is super comfortable and the rooms are extremely quiet. We are sleepers, and there was no noise (from skiiers/boots) in the morning hours.
Breakfast at the hotel is complimentary, and is incredible. Really, there was everything you could imagine. Bagels, muffins, pastries, fresh fruit, oatmeal, bacon, pancakes/waffles, cereals- to much to list. And everything was tasty. If there was something special you wanted, like an omelet or eggs over-easy, then you just ask the chef and they make it for you. YUMMY.
Also, at 4 pm every day, there are warm fresh cookies and tea/coffee in the lobby. I feel like the Hotel Telluride really knows how to put those extra 'touches' into place. No detail was left out.
Also, you can either walk OR take the hotel's free shuttle into town. We walked almost everytime. At night it's great because you are so close to the restaurants, we would get a lift from the hotel, get dropped off, eat and drink a LOT, and then walk back to the hotel.
There is one more thing: THERE WERE NO KIDS. Yipee! Don't get me wrong, kids are great and all, just not when I'm on vacation. Yes, there were teens (who cares?) but there were no strollers, screaming kids, running up and down the halls...you know the drill. I'm not saying the hotel isn't kid-friendly, I'm just saying that it doesn't cater to the little ones. It was all adults. Perfect for us!
There is so much more I could write. Feel free to send me a message if you want to know more info.
Thank you Hotel Telluride!!!
