Very nice introduction to Telluride area. Room was clean and comfortable and an excellent value for the rate paid. View from private balcony was outstanding! Easy access to gondola connecting Mountain Village to Telluride.

Room Tip: Request a room with an optimum view.

We stayed here for our niece's wedding. Great service, friendly staff, our room was a lovely, and my mother-in-law's Suite was Amazing. The pool was chilly, and so was the hot tub ( which probably has to do with the mountain air and how chilly the nights get ) Everything about this place we LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT!!!!!!!

Room Tip: If you can get in buildings 1, 2, or 3... they are closer to the pool, shuttle, and main office.

Green Features: They ask that you use the same towels ( which was fine by me, I'm clean when I get out of the shower) It saves on the amount of grey water they are sending out which is eco-friendly. You don't have to, but they ask anyway.

Last February we rented the 6 bedroom cabin at Mountain Lodge with two other families. I enjoyed the facilities and amenities at Mt Lodge, but i cannot say the same about the 6br cabin. In fairness, I only have one significant complaint with the cabin, and that is it's size. It simply does not have enough common space to accomodate 3 families. The cabin will comfortably sleep at least 14 people, but the kitchen/family room (one room) is large enough for no more than eight people. Even with eight people i would consider it a bit tight. Other than the size of the cabin, I was pleased with our experience. The employees at Mt Lodge are friendly and helpful. The pool/hot tub were more than adequate. Having a restaurant, ski shop and free Mt Lodge shuttle are a few more bonuses. In all, I would return to Mt Lodge, but next time with fewer people, in a 4 bedroom cabin or perhaps split up into two 2br condos.

Second stay here...last summer we had the basic room which was OK but nothing special. This time I sprung for an upgrade and was very glad I did. A very nice room with a mountain view, kitchen area, and fireplace. Worth the $40/nite upgrade cost (in summer...I'm sure it's more in winter.)

This is a great place, we stayed in suite which has a full kitchen, it is decorated very nice, had a balcony overlooking the mountain (request mountain views when booking, you'll love it much better than parking lot views) and very comfortable bed. The unit had a jet bath and it was very clean. Pool was also great with towels, water and sunscreen. Lots of TV channels including HBO.
No TV guide so pretty hard to plan to watch a movie or so. Kitchen has everything you need, but this resort (like 90% of others) also has the dull knife syndrome, even hard to cut a stick of butter with them. Coffee provided is very week, for sure bring your own. Besides the knifes and no TV guide it is a great place we recommend highly. About 200 yards away is the free gondola and supermarket easy to walk or take the car.

Room Tip: Ask for mountain views, spring for the suite you'll love it.

Green Features: Does a good job, you get an ecological shopping bag so cutting down on plastics.

We booked our stay as part of a wedding party. My wife and I have previously stayed at the property as well. This trip, we brought along my brother and mother to the wedding, as well as our 22 month old little girl. We wanted extra room and extra beds for everyone, so we spent quite a bit of time online researching room options. We settled on reserving a room with 2 beds in one room, and one in the other. However, when we arrived into our room at the lodge we found only one bed in each room. I went to the front desk and spoke to Robert about it. He very politely told me I must have been wrong and must have made a mistake. He sent a rollaway bed to our room. My brother is 6'4'. Your rollaway beds aren't really usable for anyone over about 5'10".

The issue I have is that Robert made no effort to accommodate the customer with either a partial credit or switching rooms, and told the customer they were wrong. Particularly frustrating given we spent quite a bit of time trying to ensure getting the exact accommodations needed to comfortably sleep a party our size. As a result, we become motivated to leave bad reviews for the hotel, and tell everyone we know NOT to stay at Mountain Lodge...all because no effort at accommodation was made to the customer, albeit very politely.

Additional issues with the stay were a wedding party member having their entire car coated with what appeared to be the wood lacquer being sprayed outside on the walls of the lodge, or perhaps something else? Whatever it was, the car obviously wasn't parked in a spot that did the customer any favors. Also, the cleanliness of the kitchen looks very dicey when walking by the window on the way to the restrooms. Lazy, careless, lack of effort types of stuff.

Obviously, it is a beautiful property in a beautiful location. I'm sure the lodge usually gets a pass from its customers due to the property itself. Takes a lot to screw that up, and a lot of this is smaller detail stuff, but you can see how it can add up to the hotel suddenly being viewed in a very different, lesser, light. Hope you can turn it around.

I got to Telluride on a Saturday night and stayed at the Mountain Lodge until Monday checkout. We loved the Jr. Suite, sound of the creek off our lovely deck and the quiet and peace here. The hammocks were so relaxing as we watched the sunset on Sunday night. Nice bar area, very welcoming. The staff was excellent, friendly and efficient. I did not want to leave and will come back and stay longer next time I return in the Fall for the amazing colors.
