The Mountain Lodge was a great place to stay. Very comfortable for our family of 5. The views were great. We enjoyed taking the tram over the mountain down into Telluride for supper and coming back in the dark. We stayed in a one bedroom loft unit on the third floor. One note - the walls aren't very thick - I woke up and thought I could hear one of my kids snoring out on the sofabed, but it was actually someone in the next unit.

We would definitely recommend the place. Since we reserved less than 30 days in advance, we had to pay the night's rate in full when we booked. When I checked out, the desk clerk found we were overcharged and credited us back an amount that I wouldn't have even questioned.

Our boys did use the pool and liked that.

Only negative we had - we were on Mountain Village Blvd but couldn't find the hotel on our navigation system so I called for directions. The clerk was busy and ended up hanging up on me. We drove a bit farther and found it on our own so wasn't a big deal.

We are enjoying our stay in the San Sophia unit at the Mountain Lodge. The best thing about the room is the view. We are on the north side, with a spectacular and secluded view of Mt. Dallas, and sounds of the creek flowing outside our window at night. The room is a one-bedroom condo unit.

We'd recommend this hotel--thumbs up!

We had an outstanding experience at the Mountain Lodge. The staff was friendly, down-to-earth and professional. We had small kids and the cabin was wonderful. The pool area was terrific. Can't wait to book another trip soon!

I read reviews that talked about the lack of dining options. There is a grocery store (that has everything you'd need) within walking distance. The gondola is convenient if you want to go downtown. We also ordered food that was delivered to the cabin (with the help of the concierge) and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner with outstanding views from within the cabin!

I was a little nervous about staying at Mountain Lodge after reading mixed reviews here on TripAdvisor. My husband and I just returned from our Memorial Day weekend stay and we can only say good things about the lodge. We stayed in a one bed condo unit. The unit was equipped very nicely: it had a comfortable bed, dual fireplace, and a great kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances (fridge, dishwasher). There was a stovetop but no oven, but that didn't really matter to us as we only used the fridge and microwave anyway. The tiled shower in the bathroom was amazing, it was one of the best I have ever experienced in a hotel. The living room area was very comfy with two big chairs and a leather sofa. There was a small balcony off the living room, which didn't have mountain views but did overlook a stream, which made for some nice background noise while we sat outside. It was a few minutes walk to the gondola but it was not a big deal. The views from the gondola going from Mountain Village to Telluride were amazing! There was a market right by the gondola station (not far from the lodge) where we bought groceries. There was also a liquor store next door. We did not use the pool, hot tub or exercise room at the lodge so I can't really comment on those, but I can say that the view from the pool/hot tub area was spectacular. We went to the lodge bar both nights and the bartender was really friendly and very talented at making drinks! The check-in/check-out staff was friendly, we had no problems. I also want to mention that this was a very dog-friendly hotel, and Telluride was a very dog-friendly town. We brought our two black labs with us on this trip and had no problems taking them everywhere with us, even on the gondola. The only thing I can say about the whole trip that I would do differently next time is that I would not pay $20 a day to park my car right at the lodge. The free parking was not very far away, and we needed to walk that way anyway to get to the gondola and to get groceries. We would definitely recommend Mountain Lodge to our friends and will probably visit there again ourselves in the future.
