The fall color was stunning the end of Sept beginning of October, but the offerings for other things such as food are limited this time of year at this lodge (unless you go down into Telluride). The recommended Italian restraunt was closed until ski season began and the pub closed at 7pm, we just missed it by minutes. This left two alternatives, a trip to the small local grocery or a high priced hotel restraunt. The lodge staff was unaware of what was open and what was closed for the low season. The 1BR condo unit was clean and well kept, the fireplace did not work. The lodge is very pet friendly but the yard area was not picked up by pet owners or lodge staff. I called the lodge directly to ask for more pet details before making my decesion, the clerk went ahead and made my reservation...he did not put in the "pooch" package and the check-in staff did not want to honor the offerings of pet bowls, treats, and toys, they finally did but I never got the pet bed they advertise even though I was paying the advertised pooch rate. I wish I would of made this a day trip and returned down to Durango for the night!
