“Beautiful place to take a vacation!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2014

Amazing place to stay! The room was gorgeous and the staff was so friendly. All of our needs were met with a smile. We won't be staying at any other place when we visit Telluride again. Thanks again for an amazing weekend!

I reserved a Deluxe two bedroom condo (around 4 K$ a week) for the week between feb 8 and 15, when we arrived we have been assigned to the rooms 3015 and 3017. The windows where facing (10 feet) a snow wall. they are leveled under the road. It's just a basement that they rent !!!
When I asked to change room, I've been asked that it was no room available (the hotel was half empty, low season) !!!
The plumbing makes a lot of noise, you can hear your neighbour going to the bathroom at night.
You are Ski in and Ski out but you are in the middle of nowhere, you need a shuttle for everything.
SO if you have a choice don't go there.

Room Tip: Make sure you don't end in basement like me

Dear Sir,

We are sorry you did not enjoy your time in Telluride. We have decided against using Tripadvisor as a forum to go into further detail regarding your issues. We do, however, hope that your next vacation is better for you.

Best of Luck!

This is our third time staying at the Mountain Lodge Hotel for a week of vacation and skiing. The location is excellent for skiing from dawn to dust with easy access to the ski trails and the gondolas. The rooms are very comfortable, with good wi-fi reception too, and Elizabeth was a great house keeper. Tom is excellent in the bar and resturant and Katlyn was very nice and friendly. Also, Doug and Victor at the front desk are very knowledgable of their duties, very helpful and amicable, they will make you feel welcome all the time. The shuttle bus service is very helpful to move around. The full kitchen was great being able to get breakfast in the room before heading out and haviing an occasional diner in after skiing all day. The heated pool and jacuzzi was great to get in after a days skiing.
We are looking for our next visit !!

This lodge has everything you could want for a perfect ski vacation in Telluride. It is a short walk from the Gondolas which take you up, down to Telluride town, or just about anywhere you want to go. In the gondola square is a great grocery store offering everything you could possibly need in your condo, including pre-prepared meals. The walkway the Mountain Lodge has between it and the gondola station is a delightful winding path which is pleasant and relatively short, even in the coldest weather.

The Mountain Lodge offers a variety of room types. They are exquisitely furnished and maintained. If you are fortunate, you will get one with huge sliding door windows opening onto a private porch overlooking the slopes. It is truly ski in, gondola out! The condos feature gas fireplaces that go through and open to both the living area and the bedroom.

The spacious living room features a large flat screen TV and comfy leather-like couches and lounge chairs. The couch also turns into a large sleeper sofa. The ceilings are vaulted and decorated with rustic chandeliers. The rustic furniture suits the ski lodge atmosphere, and everything is well-chosen and sturdy.

There is a full dining room, and a remarkably well-furnished kitchen. In our one-bedroom condo, we could have entertained at least 6 for dinner! The kitchen features a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, stove, and all the conveniences. Flatware and dishes are provided, as well as a dishwasher. It is a delight to have breakfast or dinner overlooking the slopes. The living area in the 1 bedroom junior suite is huge, as is the dining area, kitchen and entryway. The bedroom is quite large, as is the master bathroom, and you have the additional benefit of a powder room.

There are several thermostats in the different rooms, so you are able to control the temperatures separately, if desired. The "powder room" has a sink and toilet, and the master bath has a full whirlpool tub with glass enclosure. The master bathroom has double sinks and lots of room.

The Queen or King beds are very comfortable, and covered in lightweight but warm quilts. There is a large flat screen TV in there, as well. Our bedroom window was large and also looked out over the ski slopes.

The lodge building has several restaurants and a heated pool, all of which are a short walk away from any condo. There is valet parking underneath the lodge. The sidewalks are all heated, so it is safe and easy to walk from one end of the complex to the other. The snow is kept shoveled and under control, and you always have easy access.

We also stayed there off season, and it is an equally great location even when not skiing. The proximity to the gondola is priceless. We drove all around the mountaintop area, and there are many lovely places to stay--but none seemed to have the uniquely perfectly location as the Mountain Lodge. The staff and service were excellent, and we will be back. We want to try out their restaurants and other facilities next time.

Plus, they give you a great laminated fabric tote bag, complete with their picture, which is perfect for carrying groceries back to your room.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the slopes, and close to the ski-in area for easy access. Try to get a room above...

Hello Janels!

Thank you for sharing your many thoughts on the Mountain Lodge on Tripadvisor! We are so glad that you had a good time! We hope you have more time to explore the other restaurants and activities during your next stay, as well, seeing as there is a lot to do here for it being a small town. We hope you may even find the opportunity to visit us in the summer for a whole different spectrum of recreational activities as well as the nice, cool summertime weather we get up here.

Have a great day and we hope to see you again soon!
Doug

Lodge facilities were well maintained and staff was friendly and helpful. Fifth night free promotion offers good value, but should be offered with online discounted lift tickets during holiday periods.

Hello Ptskis!

Thank you for your review of us here on Tripadvisor! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your dealings with our staff. Concerning lift ticket discounts over the holidays, we would love to be able to offer them should the ski resort give us any kind of a discount during those "Black-out Periods." We will continue to work with Telluride Ski and Golf to try to get the best deals for our guests whenever possible and we appreciate your input regarding this. We hope you get the chance to come out to Telluride again, soon!

Take care,
Doug

Just got back from 6 night trip over Feb school vacation week (east coast). Telly takes a little work to get to but is well worth the effort. Mountiain Lodge was great. Family of 4 in suite with kitchen and master downstairs with kids upstairs. Great layout with fireplace open to living area and master bedroom. Kids with own TV and bathroom upstairs. Nice little balcony for the warmer afternoons. Shuttle service was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful at every turn. TV Is mounted too high as someone else mentioned. Bed was on the small side but I'm 6'4" so not a concern for everyone. Master bath has a nice jacuzzi tub but the room itself is small. Need to maneuver a bit just to shut the door when you enter. You'll need humidifiers at this altitude and one was broken when we first tried it. Housekeeping promptly delivered 2 new ones when we contacted them. Overall, Mountain Lodge was great and we would recommend highly.

Hello Tom!

Thank you for spending the time to post a recap of your stay on Tripadvisor. It always brings us happiness to hear that our guests found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Regarding the the design of our rooms, we understand that the architect worked to maximize the utility of our rooms to the guests by building a lot of different amenities into our units. Hence, some of them are a little tighter than others in the bathroom area, etc. Overall, we are happy to hear that you enjoyed yourselves here in Telluride and we hope you find the chance to get back sometime soon!

Take care,
Doug

all of the positive reviews were right on spot! I will not bore you with redundancy. this place is truly great!!! the only negatives had to do with the tv viewing. first and foremost, there is no dvd player and no options for any type of pay per view options. lastly the primary television in the living area is ridiculously mounted really high on wall. sounds minor but sometimes you just want to chill and watch what you want to watch dammit!!

Hello Derek!

Thank you for mentioning us on Tripadvisor! We are glad that you are in agreement with other reviewers about the overall quality of service, etc. With regards to the TVs, we do have DVD players available for loan, we just don't have a good place to mount them in the rooms. We also have HDMI cables for sale or loan for those that want to hook up their laptops or other devices to the TVs. While we don't have a pay-per-view option, we did recently upgrade to satellite TV with 6 different HBOs and more high definition channels than would be available through our local cable company, so hopefully that helps. I do agree that the TVs high mounts can take some time to get used to, but if they were lower there would be problems with heat emanating from the fireplaces. We are looking into different mounting solutions for the next generation of TVs for when that occurs, but for now, we just kind of get used to having them mounted a little higher. We hope that you had a great time, overall, though, and we hope that we get to see you again soon.

Have a great day!
Doug
