“stay here!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013

Gorgeous and spacious rooms. Very clean and comfortable. I initially booked our stay here through Expedia but decided to add a day to our stay here and Mike at Camel Garden was awesome to work with. Would definitely stay here again, and again and again!!

We booked a Select King room, which was very spacious, and all of the furnishings in it looked brand new. The bathroom in particular was really modern and elegant; definitely the nicest bathroom on our trip, with citrusy toiletries that even my husband liked. The balcony faced the Telluride gondola, which occasionally made a very faint clanking noise. It wasn’t a problem at all when trying to sleep, and the gondola was actually quite fun to watch. My only issue with the balcony is that it was shared with the room next door, which I found a little creepy; we were careful to close the blinds when dressing and undressing, in case anyone wandered out there. If we stayed there again, I would definitely request a private balcony. The wi-fi was also intermittent in our room (although free, which is nice!). And like others, we missed having a fridge. The room also became surprisingly warm at night, even though it was very cold and raining outside. We checked that our heater was off, and then since we couldn’t keep the door open (see “shared balcony”, above), we turned on the window A/C unit, which solved the problem.

I also have to say that the front desk staff was extremely welcoming and friendly on check-in and at all times. And, the huge rooftop hot tub is delightful. More like a small heated swimming pool really, and since we were the only ones using it at the time I was able to swim a few laps.
Overall, this is a great hotel and location in Telluride for the price.

Room Tip: Request a private balcony

Location great. ..Design of lobby and room very modern..We visited in early September. Front desk very helpful. .Matt suggested pizza at the Brown Dog .Try the "worlds best" even if you don't like pan style, it was great..Next day after a nice but basic breakfast spread we asked about Hiking...Again front desk helped by suggesting Bear Creek trail over our planned Bridal veil falls. Great trek.....Easy to moderate with a water fall you can walk right up to.

Stayed July 03rd 2013 for 2 nights in room 101.
A warm and friendly welcome awaits you upon arrival, large Queen bedroom with very large bathroom with huge bath and shower, with Flat screen TV mini hifi system, (no traffic noise). The room does not have a/c, but has a large effective fan.
Underground parking available with access to all floors via elevator, this does get full and space is tight so drive in carefully.
Generous buffet breakfast included in the rate, sip your coffee and enjoy the mountain view, great central Telluride location.
Highly recommended, will be returning again on our next trip, go and stay you will not be disappointed.

We were in Telluride for a wedding, so we had a very good rate with the wedding block. The room was great, very spacious, comfortable bed, pillows, etc and the bathroom was wonderful. It's not often I can say a hotel has a great shower, but this one did. All the amenities one would expect, and the free wifi was easy - no codes to enter or anything else, just readily available. We found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. We had a burned out bulb, I mentioned it to the front desk and it was fixed immediately. I am surprised in reading these reviews that there was a complimentary breakfast! I stayed in the car when my husband checked in, so possibly the clerk mentioned it, although my husband doesn't usually forget those details. Otherwise, there is no info in the rooms, or signage anywhere about breakfast. The location was perfect, walk to everything in town. During ski season, I cannot imagine a more convenient location, right next to the gondola. Our room was on the gondola side, and we did have our windows open at night because of the no a/c that others have mentioned. While we could certainly hear the gondola, I did not find it to be at all offensive. My only complaint about the room, and it's minor, was that there were no extra towels in the bathroom, just two of everything. I like an extra clean towel for drying my hair. But all in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel, and would stay here again.

Room Tip: If noise bothers you, ask for a room away from the restaurant/gondola side.

The hotel (unlike Telluride as a whole) was very pet friendly. The staff were friendly, accommodating, responsive to issues, breakfast was great, free parking, free internet and a real good place to stay. The Summer rates were particularly good value. Highly recommend!
