“Pleasantly Surprised”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

I was a little hesitant about this place, but in the end I loved it. My family had a very nice time here. The parking in the basement was a big plus since it costs to park anywhere close. They serve a continental style breakfast and there is a restaurant in the hotel with a pretty good menu. If I had to say one negative thing about our room was the lack of AC outlets. There was this huge long wood desk with no plugs. We had to charge the laptop and phones on the floor next to the foot of the bed. The free WI-FI was nice too. I wouldn’t have to think twice about staying here again. It’s very clean and the staff was great. Oddly, in our entire week long trip through Arizona and Colorado this was the best hotel for the price and in Telluride stuff isn't cheap.

Room Tip: Rooms on the side of the gondola can hear it. They make a boom when coming in the building. It does...

We had often noticed the convenient location of this property, just across from the gondola to Mountain Village, when we had visited friends in Telluride. So when a family wedding was scheduled in the village, I quickly made reservations, as we knew this hotel had an excellent reputation . We were not disappointed. Our room on the second floor was the least expensive available, but was beautifully furnished and kept, with a small balcony and partial view of the mountain. The included continental breakfast was very fresh and adequate, served in an attractive eating area.
All the staff were terrific, but I would single out the front desk folks as just exceptional. The only property drawback is the tight parking situation in the lower level/basement. God forbid any non sober driver parking there late at night! On the Saturday night of our stay basement .parking spaces were completely gone, but the front desk person gave us a special card for our windshield and we were able to park nearly in front of the hotel on the street.

We wanted to leave Mancos a day earlier than planned because of the heat, so I called Camel's Garden to see whether it would be possible to arrive one night before our reservation officially began. The person with whom I spoke on the phone--a very helpful man named Matt-- could not find our reservation but told us that we could and would be accommodated...He soon phoned me back to tell me that he had found the reservation that had been inadvertently filed under a misspelled name. Once we got there, we were upgraded to a fantastic suite. The hotel is modern and clean, the staff, superb.

Clean , modern & classy. Our room had a small patio next to the creek. It was a very large suite with a king bed in its own separate room. Good breakfast buffet was included with fresh
Bagels and real coffee. Apples in bowls at the hotel are a nice touch. We were on on bicycle tour and we loved telluride. It is breathtakingly beautiful

We stayed in a beautiful spacious room with a fireplace, a balcony, just-right furnishings, and a two-person tub. The property has a very nice sauna; there is an outdoor Jacuzzi with views of mountain tops, water falls, and town below. The lobby is both comfortable and tastefully designed; the staff is very friendly and the continental breakfast includes bakery-fresh pastries...mmmm. The hotel is in a perfect location...the river trail runs right behind it and the gondola boarding station is right next door. We had a wonderful view of the town and mountains from our balcony. Before arriving, we were impressed with the perfect scores given to this property by other reviewers, now we know that they are well-deserved.

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony. It's worth the extra $.

We just got back from Telluride and I wanted to write a review just because how great it was! I wasn't expecting it to be as nice as it was (don't ask me why!). The rooms were large and we had a fireplace. The bathrooms were also very large and had a tub that would fit 2 people, and 2 robes. Our patio was nice and looked over the stream in the back of the hotel and then up the mountain. (Room 204). The continental breakfast was an added bonus so you didn't have to worry about what to eat that morning. The outdoor over sized hot tub was also very nice. Service was great and employees were friendly. The gondola right outside your door was a great feature and fun to use that free service. Overall, great place. Will definitely stay there again when we're in Telluride.

Not as luxurious as staying in Mountain Village of Telluride, but close. The room was big enough and the bathroom was big and nice. I was there in the springtime, so walk on access to skiing was not a factor. The outside door to the deck was nice.

The 25 foot outdoor hot tub is excellent, and the sauna cranks out plenty of steam. The continental breakfast could have some fruit added to it, but considering I paid more at Hotel Madeline and had no breakfast, it is a pretty good deal.

Room Tip: Ask for an outside door to the deck.
