Telluride is a magic place to spend a ski vacation with the family and the Peaks hotel is just the best place to stay with kids, who can ski-out early every morning and have fun in different areas of the hotel.
The big breakfast buffet has enough calories to keep you going all day, although you have to get there early because there can be a line and breakfast seating is quite unorganized.
If you forgot something at the hotel, you want to pop-in to have a warm coffee – there’s a real cafeteria within the hotel- or you want to take a ski break and do some yoga, the ski-in access to the hotel is easy and fast. And while you are in the hotel, they keep your boots warm and dry for when you are ready to go out again.
For non-skiers, there are all kinds of classes or you can read a book with a spectacular view and the warmth of the fireplace in the foyer.
The room is of good size and enough closets for all your bulky winter clothing. The bathroom is comfortable, with a bath tub to relax the muscles after a day on the slopes and a shower.
The kids had a lot of fun in the play-room, where they befriended other children and I used the extensive gym and swimming pool area every day.
It can be noisy at some time with so many children running around and parties at night but the friendly and warm atmosphere makes you smile upon those details.
