“Excellent hotel in Telluride!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2012

We stayed at the New Sheridan Hotel for two nights. I was a little nervous about staying there after reading some of the reviews, but had no reason to be. We had a room on the second floor in the back of the hotel. The only time I heard the noise from the bar was when I was in the bathroom. We couldn't hear the noise in our room. The room was really nice as was the bathroom. I was very impressed as this was the most reasonably priced hotel in Telluride. I was expecting much less! When we checked in, we got a parking pass so we could park nearby. We found a spot every time without much of a problem. The hotel is charming and full of old photographs of Telluride. We enjoyed looking at them. Everyone was very friendly and available. I will stay at the hotel next time I am in Telluride.

Room Tip: Rooms in the back of the hotel are quieter.

Our family, friends, and wedding party stayed here for 4-5 days for our son's wedding. We could not have asked for better service. We were made to feel very much at home at the hotel and town. The entire staff could not have been more thoughtful or accommodating to our needs. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and kept very clean. We would highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Telluride. We hope to return for another visit.

Room Tip: Room that do not overlook Colorado Avenue would be quieter.

I like historic old buildings and the New Sheridan was that, built in 1895. The price of $125.14 (final with tax) for one night was ridiculous. Parking was on the street around the block. The hotel operated a restaurant but didn't offer free breakfast to the guests. It's just sad to pay over a hundred dollars for a room and not get breakfast when they also run a restaurant. I was told I could order from the menu. I've stayed at $50 a night hotels and was treated better. There were no hooks on the bathroom door to hang a robe, and the soap dishes let the soap slide off. Over-rated, over-priced, and should be over-looked.

My wife and I stayed at the New Sheridan Hotel in Telluride for one night on a week-long trip around Colorado. Our room was on the 3rd (top) floor overlooking the street. The room was very large, as was the bathroom. It was very clean. The bed was extraordinarily comfortable, maybe the best I've ever slept on. The furniture was historically proper for the period the original hotel was built and first used. In the Colorado mountains, many hotels do not have air conditioning as the evenings are always cool. We found our room to be too warm for good sleeping, so we opened the two windows overnight. There was a lot of noise that came into our room. First, we had the pleasure of hearing a number of very loud and drunk people leaving the two bars on the first floor, and then about 5 AM the street sweeping machine decided to make a number of passes by the hotel. Neither of which was the hotels fault, but you may want to ask for a room that doesn't face the street if you are a light sleeper.

The rooftop hot tubs (two of them) were very nice. There is no hotel parking area, so you need to find a spot on one of the residential streets. It is a little bit of a walk, but you can park in front of the hotel just to unload your luggage, if the distance is a concern. We parked in a street behind the hotel, and some clown mashed right up against the bumper of our brand new car. Next time, we'll park even farther away. We also enjoyed the historic pictures on the hallway walls of the hotel - great history!

Room Tip: The rooms facing the street are nice if you like to people watch, but are very loud if you are a lig...

Thank you for choosing to stay with us on your Colorado vacation. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed our comfortable beds, overall cleanliness, authentic decor, and rooftop hot tubs. We apologize for the disruptive noise outside. We provide ear plugs in room to help mitigate, but recommend an interior room as the best solution. Thank you for your review, and we look forward to welcoming you back!

My husband and I have skied Telluride multiple time, and the last trip was the best of them all!
Not only did we have great day of skiing but we also discovered the New Sheridan Hotel.

It is located right in downtown, close to all restaurants, shops and of course the slopes.

The hotel is beautifully restored to preserve its charm and history of the late 1800's.
The rooms have amenities above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible: humidifier, robes, high quality towels and linens, brand bath soaps and shampoos, heated floors and what not!

The robes are there for a reason. A gem of this hotel is a hot tub located on the roof. What can be more romantic, than relaxing after a day of skiing and watching the groomers work at night.

The hotel also features concierge services, free parking, bar and a full restaurant.
Customer Services will impress you with detail oriented concierge on the main floor. We got all taken care of by Beau who made our stay even more comfortable.

You will enjoy the stay - no doubt!!!

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the New Sheridan for 2 nights after our flight was cancelled last year. I almost wish our rebooked flights had been even later. What a great hotel! The staff was exceptionally helpful and welcoming. The rooms are beautifully appointed. The decor is updated but not in a generic contemporary way. They truly did an amazing job blending modern luxury with the spirit and character of Telluride. In addition to the great rooms, the gorgeous New Sheridan Chop House is one of our favorite restaurants in Telluride. Whether you're in town during winter or summertime, the New Sheridan should be at the top of your list.
Just a note: As might be expected with an old hotel, the bathrooms were small, but they are immaculate and lovely.
