We spent a week at the Ice House Lodge and had a wonderful time . The free breakfast was adequate , as it included fruit , yoghurt , hot and cold cereal, [ the packages of instant oatmeal that you mix with milk or water , and then put in the microwave ], fresh danish and donuts and bagels from the bakery up the street , do it yourself hot cider or hot chocolate ,various juices and teas , delicious Starbucks coffee [ regular and decaf ] , and assorted packets of cream cheese, butter , jam and jelly etc. The room where breakfast was served had the same hot drinks available free all day , which was really nice to come home to after a day on the slopes . This was a big room with a glass ceiling and many plants , which made it feel warm and welcoming . At night it and the room next to it act as a bar .
They have various types of accommodations , ranging from a hotel room to 2bed-2bath condominiums . Our room had a very nice balcony and a large window -- all very clean and comfortable . They even provided every room with a humidifier , which makes a BIG difference as we find most ski lodges' rooms very dry. There's plenty of drawer space , and 8 or 10 big wooden pegs on the wall by the door .. perfect for ski jackets , pants, goggles , mitts , helmets, hats etc.
Our room also had 2 terry-cloth robes , so that's what we wore down to the pool [ indoor/outdoor ]and hot tub. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful , everyone from the bartender , hotel manager , breakfast-provider , maids , right down to the hotel dog with her ever-present chew-toy.
It's a short block walk to the gondola , with a ski shop [ with rentals ] on the way...
There's lots of restaurants and stores within a few minutes' walk..
I'd go back in a heartbeat !
