“The place to stay in Telluride!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

The Ice House is so great! I stayed four nights last week and loved every minute of it. Great staff, awesome breakfast (continental plus) great apres, perfect location, great value, and I could go on and on.
Stay here if you are looking for a great place in Telluride that has it all.

Just returned from 7 night ski vacation at Ice House Telluride. Stayed in the condos, huge living, dining & kitchen space, & close to gondola base & main street.
Free breakfast was a good way to start the day & afternoon bar was relaxing before dinner.
Staff were very friendly & attend to details to make stay enjoyable. Housekeeping excellent.
It was also good to have some bounding dogs to meet you in the hallways.
Excellent all round, I will be back!!!

We spent a week at the Ice House Lodge and had a wonderful time . The free breakfast was adequate , as it included fruit , yoghurt , hot and cold cereal, [ the packages of instant oatmeal that you mix with milk or water , and then put in the microwave ], fresh danish and donuts and bagels from the bakery up the street , do it yourself hot cider or hot chocolate ,various juices and teas , delicious Starbucks coffee [ regular and decaf ] , and assorted packets of cream cheese, butter , jam and jelly etc. The room where breakfast was served had the same hot drinks available free all day , which was really nice to come home to after a day on the slopes . This was a big room with a glass ceiling and many plants , which made it feel warm and welcoming . At night it and the room next to it act as a bar .

They have various types of accommodations , ranging from a hotel room to 2bed-2bath condominiums . Our room had a very nice balcony and a large window -- all very clean and comfortable . They even provided every room with a humidifier , which makes a BIG difference as we find most ski lodges' rooms very dry. There's plenty of drawer space , and 8 or 10 big wooden pegs on the wall by the door .. perfect for ski jackets , pants, goggles , mitts , helmets, hats etc.

Our room also had 2 terry-cloth robes , so that's what we wore down to the pool [ indoor/outdoor ]and hot tub. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful , everyone from the bartender , hotel manager , breakfast-provider , maids , right down to the hotel dog with her ever-present chew-toy.

It's a short block walk to the gondola , with a ski shop [ with rentals ] on the way...

There's lots of restaurants and stores within a few minutes' walk..
I'd go back in a heartbeat !

We were in town for a day of skiing on the Mountain in Telluride. The room was Great, only a block from the Gondola. The staff were very helpful, and made excellent recommendations for dining and ski rentals. One big advantage is that they offer free parking, a big factor in Telluride!
Highly recommend - great for skiers!

Room Tip: Take advantage of the facilities

What a magnificent place Telluride is. To make it better Scott and his team at the Camel Garden made the stay so easy. We came from Australia and didnt know really what to expect but Scott was very helpful. It is located right next to the Gondola for access to the ski fields and the Telluride trail allows skiing to the base of the Gondola at the end of the day. The guys at Telluride Sports (part of the Camels Garden Hotel) were excellent. Chris,David,James and Dixon made everything easy-best boots and skis. Best of all you leave your shoes there while you ski and drop off all your ski gear at the end of the day and walk back in comfortable shoes. The supermarket and the bottle shop are walking distance-50m, and the main street about 100m.
We will definitely be back again.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the mountain have the best view and are quieter at night

We stayed at the Ice House in August, 2012 for the USA Pro Cycling Challenge stage that ended in town. We have stayed at the Ice House almost every fall or summer since 1997. The rooms are great, complimentary breakfast always good, but the highlight is always stopping by Rico's for HH or coming back from dinner. He always remembers us, and we have great conversations about Telluride, activities during the trip & life in general.

We stopped here during a road trip and it was a great choice. The staff was friendly and Rico (bar purveyor upstairs) is friendly if you drink there. ( We didn't and it obviously disappointed him) There is not free wifi which was silly. The accommodations were clean and "current". The view- beautiful. The parking- if you have a large vehicle forget about it. The underground parking is "cramped" to be kind. Would I go back? Definitely!

Room Tip: Rooms with a "lot" view also have a mountain view and a little ealry morning street sound.
