“Absolutely stellar!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013 via mobile

This hotel is incredible. The staff was beyond helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who likes to be pampered and surrounded with luxury. Every finish is high end and no cost was spared in creating absolute perfection.

We stayed for a 65th Birthday Celebration. The room was spaciuos with a mini bar, comfy bed, casual seating, a desk, deluxe bathroom and small balcony. The staff accomodated all our requests and the restaurants served delicious food. The location was just a minute (walking distance) from the Gondola to the mountain top and downtown Telluride.

Room Tip: A down mountain view is great or over the skating rink.

Green Features: We appreciate their policies. I love it when the hotel offers the option to not wash the sheets everyday.

Beautiful place to stay. Very convenient to the gondola. Good restaurant in the hotel. Telluride is one of the most beautiful places you will ever go. Staying at the Hotel Madeline you are above the town of Telluride, with beautiful views. Being so close to the gondola you have easy access to everything.

Room Tip: Try to get a room that overlooks the courtyard, that has the restaurants and shops.

My husband and I chose to stay at the Hotel Madeline in Telluride to celebrate my birthday and our 42nd anniversary. What a great choice! The hotel staff was most accommodating and upgraded us to a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the plaza. We had stayed at The Peaks years ago and found that too large and somewhat in disarray. The room was very quiet, clean and elegant, first class. The hotel is also very, very close to the gondola that takes you into Telluride or to the grocery store. The location is suburb. We can't wait to return and would definitely stay only at the Hotel Madeline!!!

Room Tip: We enjoyed a room overlooking the plaza and on a high floor with balcony.

Bell service was prompt and friendly. Rooms were spacious, well appointed, and clean. We were on a group ride of 5 couples. The hotel allowed us the use of a portion of the common area off the reception area for us to enjoy our own beverages and finger food. The setting was perfect for our needs.

At this season (October - between the winter and summer tourist seasons), food was not available inside the hotel. However the restaurant next door provided supper breakfast, and Madeline provided ample vouchers for the meal.

My husband and I had stayed at this property when it was the "Capella," loved it, and wanted to return, but found it under new management as Hotel Madeline. However, we were delighted to find that this beautiful hotel did not disappoint. The reception staff was friendly and fulfilled our requests promptly when the first room did not quite fit our needs. We were there on a fall discount, but the room was all that we could desire: very comfortable bed, giant TV, desk, included WiFi, safe, and refrigerator. The bathroom was very large, with a soaking tub, roomy separate shower, and two sinks. As senior citizens we were a bit lost when searching for the correct exit to the plaza to ride the gondola. A thoughtful staff member was happy to escort us all the way to the gondola steps. Breakfast was excellent and reasonably priced. We hope to return.

Room Tip: Some rooms are small. Ask for one with a desk and refrigerator.

The rooms, bathrooms, bed linens, towels etc were all fantastic. We had an exceptionally comfortable stay with first class rooms... what a great nights sleep!
Breakfast was also fantastic, service friendly and very helpful.
Good location ski-out... ski in not possible unfortunately so 5 min walk with skis carried at the end of a hard days skiing required...but all else makes up for this.
