A splendid and memorable stay at one of the most charming Inns in the Rockies.

Service is personal and not too formal...just the way I like it. Just about every guest I met remarked on the warm and friendly staff.

The location is absolutely unbeatable, steps away from the slopes and Gondola, which provides complimentary transportation over to Telluride...and the views aren't bad either.

9545, the Inn's three meal restaurant, is worth the trip on its own. Casual, yet refined, a great wine list and again, the service makes it special. Try the chili and 9545 burger...best in town guaranteed.

The accommodations are top-notch...every room feels like a home. But, the attentive staff really makes the experience...far and away the best in Telluride.

My fiancee and I stayed at the Inn in late June for a weekend getaway from Denver. This was our first time to Telluride and the wonderful staff and world class accomodations were outstanding. The guest room we had had views of the ski area and the gondola that gets you around the Mountain Village. The rooms were very comfortable and the amenities were better than we had expected! Flat screen tv's, rooftop jacuzzis, and a free car wash upon checkout! What more could you want?? If you are planning a trip to the best part of Colorado, don't miss out on this little gem of a hotel in the heart of the San Juan Mountains!

“not what expected”

The Inn at Lost Creek

Guided by pictures ( and upper level pricing..) we had expected a somewhat private/secluded site for this hotel, with great views over the mountains. What we got instead was a hotel right next to other buildings, tightly crammed into a loop drive, with construction going on all around. Our 1 bedroom residence didn't offer any views of the mountains, but of the entrance driveway with the construction crane. Our non refundable, fully charged reservation was from over 4 weeks before. Was there no better room available?
Upon entering the lobby , the young woman behind the desk only asked for our credit card, to put a $100 authorization for "incidentals" on to. That set the tone for our entire stay there: No friendly welcome, no sense of hospitality , just a few, hard to understand, foreign born employees, who, if not performing a minimal service for tips, seemed bored and uninterested in the welfare of the guests.
We understand that the property is being converted into condominiums, so apparently nobody cares anymore.
Glad we acted on another tripadvisor member's suggestion to park the car ourselves, and to thus save a $20 valet parking fee per day.
The bedroom residence itself was adequate, but not what I'd expect a 4 star property to be: the layout/floorplan was fairly tight, low ceilings, the queen sized bed had a rather spongy/ soft mattress, and the overall decor was in no way artistic or sophisticated, but looked a little outdated, borderline "cheap".
Even though lodging in Telluride is on the expensive side, to pay $239 per night (comes to 277 with fees and taxes) at the Inn just didn't seem like a good value. There is too much fluctuation in the price on these units for my liking: it will sell in late October for 138 per night , but then rise up to $725 ( !!) per night for the days over Christmas . Are they serious??
Next time, I'll stay in Telluride proper, probably at the Columbia. Heard consistently good things about it from people who stayed there.

We've just returned from four days in Telluride, staying at the Inn at Lost Creek, and I was extremely impressed with this hotel. It is a small hotel in the Mountail Village, a 12 minute Gondola ride up and over the mountain from the village of Telluride. We had a lovely suite complete with large living room, kitchen area, dining table, lovely bedroom, large bath with steam shower. The amenities include first rate toiletries, bathrobes, lovely kitchenware and cuttlery, fridge, microwave, coffee and sugar and fresh 1/2 and 1/2, washer dryer, in suite humidifier system, etc. Lots of little touches that made it just perfect.
Telluride is very high , at 10,000 feet but this boutique hotel was even prepared with Oxygen canisters at the ready at the front desk (which really helps by the way). If you haven't been to ski country in the spring or fall you are really missing a very special time. Very attentive service, great food at the restaurant downstairs. No pool, but a spa on the roof and a workout room that I frankly didn't use because there are so many outdoor activites including hiking, biking, fishing and rafting. I would love to have stayed for a month, the location is great if you are there to ski, right in the middle of several trails.
Really really enjoyed this beautiful retreat.

“Inn at Lost Creek pretty good given lack of options”

The Inn at Lost Creek

Inn at Lost Creek is one of few hotel options in expensive Telluride. They purportedly are going all condo soon, which likely will mean higher prices. Until then, you can take advantage of nice property, well-equipped rooms, and good location in Telluride Mtn Village. Downside: $17 + tax + valet tip for parking (valet only). They should tell you this up front so you know that free parking is available near the market at other end of Mtn Village. Typical Telluride ethos at play: take the tourist $ when you can. Otherwise, I had a nice one night stay. Did park at free parking--gondola takes you back for a 5 minute, peaceful ride over the village. 5 minute walk to the hotel from end of gondola is worth the $20 in savings.
