“Great Value in Luxury”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We lucked into a great stay at this Inn. We were treated to excellent, attentive service and beautiful accomodations. We booked during an off-peak period; it was summer and there were no festivals in town and the Inn at Lost Creek was priced right. If it was winter (ski season) or there were festivals in town it would have been more expensive (still probably worth it as it is an upscale place, after all) but to fill otherwise empty rooms it was much cheaper.
The gondola ride to town is fabulous and VERY convenient.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms near the restaurant utility area.

This quaint hotel took care of us in every way! We were given a fabulous large corner room with a good mattress, big bathroom including a real steam shower option, fireplace, kitchen which included a Keurig coffeemaker, free water bottles with lots of etc. The quiet gondola ran outside our front windows & there were windows everywhere to enjoy the fabulous views. The staff goes out of their way to detail, explain & show you answers to your activity/dining questions. The desk & bell hop are the best we have experienced in a hotel anywhere. Someone came to pick us up at the front steps in a golf cart to take my husband & I to the gorgeous nearby golf course. This small hotel sits near the top of the ski area in Telluride & the gondola rides are free to discover the fun town below. We booked a golf package which was worthwhile. Getting there in your car is part of the wonderful journey! We saw a WILD herd of elk in the hundreds, on our drive to Telluride! I think Telluride might just be THE prettiest place on earth!

Room Tip: Just ask them!

Our third stay at the Inn was early August for the Jazz festival, which we attend about every other year. The location above Telluride is right on the gondola line and 100 yards from the hotel. We had a junior suite, two rooms including a kitchenette, on the 6th floor. Plenty of space, good appointments, fireplace, steam shower, good bed. Valet parking is $20 daily. Good buffet breakfast each morning at the hotel, a happy hour, and easy walking distance to a half dozen restaurants in the village. The staff helps to set the place apart. They are attentive and engaging, and seem to like what they do.

This time, we brought our two dogs (20lbs) with the and found the Inn to be very dog friendly, while not intruding on the rest of the guests. Suggest you call and discuss their policy, but we were happy with the experience.

Room Tip: Jr suite is worth the extra cost. Upper floors have better views.

I've stayed a lot of places that were even higher in price than here, but by far The Inn at Lost Creek was the best. The Staff was exceptional! They were Always friendly and nice. Attentive to your needs. Coming out of behind the front desk to show you were to go. We got there at 11am and asked to have them store our luggage while we ate lunch at a near by Hotel. Our check in was at 4pm. They checked and allowed us to check in then at 11am bc our room was ready! The junior suite was beautiful! Clean spacious and had everything you could need. Flowers on bed, cookies by bed and chocolates on bed. Free water was there for us as well as fruit. They even gave us more water when they saw us carrying up cups of water from the from desk area. I would go back there any and every time I go to Telluride!

Room Tip: Over all great rooms. The Location of Hotel is perfect so even if you do not have a Great view from...

This hotel is magnificent and beautiful. Our room had a gas fireplace and huge shower and a separate jacuzzi bathtub, a hugely comfortable bed, a balcony with a view, a mini washer/ dryer and a little kitchen with utensils, a ceramic oven top, mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. We were a 3 minute walk from the FREE gondola which took us to the top of the mountain in about 5 minutes and to downtown Telluride in about 12 minutes. A great breakfast was included. There was a nice happy hour each night. The restaurant in the hotel (Siam) was quite nice. We got all of this for about $160 per night.
Others will say that you need to stay in downtown Telluride, but we found there to be plenty to do, see and eat in Telluride Village and we took the FREE gondola plenty of times to Telluride for additional shopping and eating experiences which was both fun and convenient. We're pretty sure that the Mountain Village is cheaper, at least during the summer.
Now the real reason that we recommend The Inn at Lost Creek was Linda at the front desk. She immediately made us feel at home. She took an interest in us and our vacation. She made recommendations on what to do and places to eat. Her suggestions and our conversations with her made our trip the unique and special experience that we both dreamed of. We can't thank Linda and the staff at The Inn enough for making our experience in Telluride memorable and magical!

The hotel is located in Mountain Village and is conveniently located right next to the gondola that goes into Telluride and another that goes to the local MV market. I think it would be a great place to stay for a ski vacation; however, MV is pretty quiet in the summer time so I think I would be more inclined to stay in Telluride in the summer and just take a gondola ride up to MV for fun. We reserved a 2-bedroom condo and upon check in were told we were given two adjoining one-bedroom condos which was fine for us, but if you were traveling with small children you probably would have wanted a baby monitor since bedrooms were far apart. The condos were well appointed and service was fine from the hotel desk, porters and bartenders. However, we could not get wifi in our condos the first day. Apparently, there was a unique problem which was fixed by the second day. The breakfast that was included was also nice; however, the wait staff was not very attentive...I had to walk up to them several times during our stay to get their attention. I was also a little suprised I couldn't get a cup of black tea...not even Lipton. Luckily, I had brought some Earl Gray bags with me (I don't drink coffee). I was surprised that on the second morning, the waiter said they were still out, but that he had told the chef...I guess it wasn't important enough to have someone go to the local market (hmmm).

We spent 4 nights at The Inn at Lost Creek to celebrate our 41st anniversary and had a most enjoyable time. Marvelous staff; great location; outstanding breakfasts; nice room.

Charlie, Shane & Bret were the friendliest & most helpful hotel staff we have ever encountered. It was truly a pleasure interacting and talking with them. Charlie even washed off the back of our SUV for us as it was covered in dirt from 4-wheeling--way above & beyond. NOTE TO HOTEL MANAGEMENT: your staff is what makes the difference--don't lose these guys.

Charlie also recommended The Brown Dog for pizza & Cocina de la Luz for Mexican food and both were excellent. We tried The Oak for BBQ on our own and it was simply terrible--just don't go unless you like really bad BBQ.

Our room was quiet and comfortable and we enjoyed the Keurig coffeemaker in the mornings. However, the bed was too small (queen size), the refrigerator struggled to keep the drinks cool (never cold) and the carpet is in need of a cleaning--lots of food spills under the table. The flip side was the steam shower, the plentiful fluffy towels, and the two balconies. We reserved the hot tub on the roof and were pleased with the privacy & view. The hotel recently added Direct TV, but there's no movie channels, the network stations were from Denver--no local news/weather--and there was not much to watch on the available cable/sat channels. Hey, it rained a lot and we spent a lot of time in the room. The wi-fi crashed on our last day, and the suggested "back-up" wi-fi didn't work.

Riding the gondola to town & back was lots of fun, and kept us from having to drive & park. However, remember that there's a $20/day valet parking fee that's not often mentioned.

Room Tip: Rooms near the elevator are a bit noisy. The elevator's bell is quite noisy and should be muted...
