“Great spot in mountain village”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2014

My wife and I stayed one night at the inn at lost creek and had a great experience. The room was clean and ready for our early checkin, it was quiet enough for a mid afternoon nap and the vies from the room were huge! Thai restaurant downstairs for dinner after a private sunset hot tub ( no extra charge for the private hot tub!) is a great way to end any day.

Truly ski in /ski out. No hiking 30 yards and calling it slope side, it really is slope side! Staff is extremely helpful and knowledgable, would recommend this hotel for sure. Only negative was window latch in our room (504) that was hard to operate and caused me to wrestle with the window latch a bit, but if this is my biggest issue I would say vacation mission accomplished!

Room Tip: Rooms that face north have huge views!

We stayed at the Inn at Lost Creek from February 26 to March 2 of this year. Shane, the front desk supervisor, was amazing and super friendly. Henry and Charley were also very helpful and super nice. Our room (Studio) was just what we needed since we were skiing every day. It was very clean and at night, when we came back to our room after dinner, the bed's sheets were pulled back along with complimentary chocolate candy on the pillow. Every day, my wife and I were surprised at finding something new in our room that we didn't realize we had. Everyone we met at the hotel was great! It was so nice coming outside in the morning and our skis were already for us. (Courtesy of Joe, I think) The Inn is in a perfect location next to the Gondola and the Village Express lift. I did not want to leave this place! Management should be proud of their employees here - they do a great job of making every guest feel welcome.

and generally felt truly pampered and fortunate to be staying in such a friendly, comfortable and convenient place! The location is amazing for skiing as everything - the ski valets, bars, shops and restaurants - are quite literally a few paces away. All the staff were so friendly and went out of their way to sort out any problems or questions we had.The room (we stayed in a Junior Suite,) was well appointed and nicely furnished in a mountain style, and the large bathroom was amazing! with a whirlpool tub, steam shower, and lots of amenities.
12 days was rather a long time to be staying in such a relatively small space though, and tone of the main drawbacks of the room was that it had very little natural light except in the bedroom area. it could have done with far better lighting as i could not see to read in the evening, and it felt rather miserable due to the poor light and lack of view.(and the views are so amazing in Mountain Village! All we could see from our room was another building. Also we could not seem to control the temperature which was way too hot despite our best efforts to bring it down with the AC. Luckily the windows open. Pillows were too fat for my liking and I had to sleep without one.
It was great to have had breakfast included (the kitchen was rather too small to cook in) but i think that the breakfast staff needed to make more effort to ensure that everything - plates, cutlery, glasses, was available, as. often there was no egg, or bacon, or fruit, or other food items which we wanted! it seemed to be disorganised and rather random . Also the cereal choices needed to include a wholegrain one. There also was no TEA - and being English we do love our breakfast cup of tea! Also the scrambled eggs were rock-like and disappointing every day.
Having made these comments i would definitely stay again, and hope that we were given a room with better lighting, more of a view and that the breakfast issues were sorted out!

Room Tip: Ask for a view! preferably facing out onto the mountain. Or one that had plenty of windows

Won't stay anywhere else in telluride. Charlie helped us with our bags, took the skiis and pointed us to the chocolate chip cookies. Skiis magically appeared on the snow every morning. Good breakfast. Staff amazing. Again, Charlie was awesome. Remembered my kids names from the first day. On the slopes and super easy, with great room.

Warm and charming hotel, stunning views, excellent service, clean and comfortable spacious room with a fireplace, fantastic complementary breakfast daily, and the most beautiful place you'll ever ski.....period! What more can you want?

Thank you Julie, Charlie and the rest of the team for an incredibly memorable experience!

Agree - good location and friendly staff BUT remembering our names and friendly smiles are NOT enough to excuse the many issues. During booking we asked to speak to Concierge and were always told that they were busy. Turns out that the Bellman/Front Desk is the Concierge, helps put out skis in the morning, shows guest to room and deals with issues..and everything else that needs doing. There is NO Concierge - so why didn't they just say that? Breakfast included in room rate. THIS WAS OUTRAGEOUS. I promise that I am not exaggerating. Small selection of cereals, very small bowl of berries, scrambled eggs/potatoes, bacon/sausage, biscuit/gravy all crammed into a tight "U" space where guests squeeze in line. The pans and bowls were always EMPTY. Guests waited...and waited....and waited for food to be replenished. Coffee urn emptied. No glasses for water. Plates and bowls always used up. Breakfast didn't start until 7:30 (skiers usually start earlier) yet the one or two people running the dining room were NEVER ready at 7:30. It was like they were hoping their guests would get tired of the nonsense and buy food to eat in their rooms. We brought it to the attention of the front desk - they cared but NOT ENOUGH TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. On the last morning we tried to eat in the dining room, almost all pans were empty including 2 of the cereals. The manager from front desk came in to help after we complained. She had to take guest's coffee cups back into kitchen to get them coffee. Electronic room keys didn't work even after 2nd set had been made. Imagine rushing back to the room after a long day of skiing...carrying hat/gloves/etc...needing to use the restroom...only to find that the key wouldn't work...AGAIN! When we first arrived, the room had several light bulbs out and lamps that had been moved out of place. The humidifier didn't work which we were told had been an ongoing problem. It took 3 days before replaced with a unit that was so loud (and didn't produce) that we couldn't use it. Water wouldn't drain from either sink (scum line surrounded sink after 5 minutes of draining.) Bathtub drain would not rise after use - maintenance had to come. Housekeeping would not leave extra roll of toilet paper - Only had roll on the dispenser. Had to chase them down in the hall twice during a 6 day stay. Same with tissue box - didn't replace when empty. Turn-down service didn't show up on 2 nights out of 6. Came at 9:30 one night. Hot water - wait and wait and wait. Housekeeping didn't bother to wipe down kitchen counters or glass table tops. Asked to speak to Julie (Innkeeper) several times only to be told each time she wasn't in. We are usually very self-sufficient and quiet guests who just want to enjoy a good day of snow and a comfy bed. But the multitude of issues overlooked and ignored do not go away because the staff asks you how your day was.
Good - delicious choc chip cookies and water or tea after skiing. Siam Talay for dinner was very good. Bartenders were very welcoming even though we didn't drink and just had dinner. Our car was brought up whenever we asked.

Room Tip: We usually choose rooms facing ski mountain. However our room on the 5th floor faced the Chondola a...

I have never enjoyed a more complete ski-in, ski-out experience than I did at the Inn at Lost Creek. The location cannot be beat, and the amenities including a steam shower and fireplace in the room as well as the ski shop located downstairs were fantastic. But what sets the Inn at Lost Creek apart from any hotel experience I've ever had was the staff ... businesses could learn a lot by studying their operation. They LIVE for their guests, going well beyond the polite smiles and courteous inquiries common everywhere to find ways to be helpful and seek avenues for delivering a superior vacation experience for their customers. The front desk staff was amazingly helpful, the ski storage service was consistent, Charlie seemed to be everywhere making sure our needs were met, and Ryan went out of his way to deliver anything we needed. An example -- once we called down for ice, and not 3 minutes later Ryan showed up in his "street clothes" with our delivery ... he mentioned he had finished work 15 minutes ago but saw the ice request come in and decided to run it up to us on his way out the door. Above and beyond. We'll be back, regularly.
