“Family Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2014

My Wife 2 kids and Grandma stayed here for 6 nights. Should have been 5 but we extended it a night because the place was great and the snow was good... The Inn at Lost Creek is one of the best places we have stayed while we were on a ski vacation!!!! The staff is super friendly and helpful... They all leaned each of our names and made the kids feel and home when we were down chilling by the fire in the lobby after skiing each day. The room (505) was very clean and bed was comfortable. The location of this hotel is the best ski in ski out we have stayed at, its true ski in ski out right to the rack for the skis at the bottom of the 3 steps leading to the lobby!!! We have been coming to Telluride sense 04 and have stayed all over this the best place in town We will be back here for sure!!!

Friendly, courteous and helpful is the best way to describe the staff at the Inn at Lost Creek. We found the staff to be attentive and willing to assist with our requests. On two occasions they went the extra step to ensure our needs were met and exceeded. This was a pleasant, hassle free vacation that we are planning to repeat next year! AWESOME experience!

Room Tip: Room with a mountain view

Recent 5 day stay was terrific. Staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Room(Junior Suite) was perfect for a couple and an excellent value. Convenience with in-house quality restaurant, ski shop/rentals and TRUE ski-in, ski-out made everything easy and pleasant. If/when we return to Telluride, we will stay here again. Our friends who stayed in a Senior Suite would echo these statements. Matt&Jessica K

This is our second stay at the Inn at Lost Creek. We stayed at the property from January 8th to January fourteenth.
To sum up our trip in one word: FANTASTIC!

Location:
For those who know Mountain Village, there are a handful of hotels close to the slopes. However, the Inn at Lost Creek is the only *true* ski in ski out property in the vicinity of the lifts.

You wake up in the morning, and your skis are ready and waiting for you at the ski rack a mere twenty feet from the Chondoloa. At the end of the day you drop your skis off at the same rack, and begin your après-ski afternoon.
The Inn is close to a lot of great restaurants and shops in Mountain Village. You cannot be at a better location in terms of being near the slopes as well as well as the night life and shops.

Accommodations:
We stayed in one bedroom suite(s) during both of our stays. During this stay, we were in the Liberty Suite. It was magnificent. The views were stunning....the mountain views were spectacular. Seeing the gondolas sail by in the morning was cozy and charming. The room itself had a wonderful fireplace, a lovely bathroom with a steam shower, and tons of windows to enjoy the view from every room. There were also two small balconies. The bed was very comfortable.
I was surprised how quiet the rooms were. We had brought our dog, and there were two large dogs next door to us, and yet we didn't hear a peep for the neighbors dogs durning our entire stay.

The lobby is quaint and beautiful. We would sit there in the evening after going out to dinner, and enjoy the fire while sipping a glass of wine. It was fun to relax our sore joints, pet our dog and review the great pictures we took skiing that day!

The chocolate chip cookies served in the lobby every morning were delicious.

Saim's Talay Grille:

This restaurant was new to us; during our or prior stay there was a different restaurant at the Inn at Lost Creek. We had made dinner reservations for each night of our stay at other places, but one evening decided to cancel a reservation in Telluride and eat at the Talay Grille. We were so glad that glad we did! Their Tom Kha was hands down the best I've had. (And we dine in Seattle a lot, so that is saying something!) The chicken hand rolls were wonderful. The panang short rib was sublime. The service was spectacular. We ended up eating there at least twice Moore. Jeff Bager is doing an exquisite job with this place. I'm missing the Tom Kha right now!

Service/Staff:

With all that it has going in terms of location, luxury accommodations, and a wonderful restaurant, the Inn at Lost Creek would be a premier ski destination even with a staff that was just average. But that isn't the case. The staff at the Inn is EXEMPLARY.

From the minute you arrive, the members of the crew bend over backward to make certain that every aspect of your stay is perfect. You being to feel I like the staffing are more family and friends,

Julie Denny, our Innkeeper, helped us to attain one of best rooms at the Inn. If addition, she was always concerned as to how we were enjoying our trip, and always asked if there was anything we needed. She's a lovely, warm upbeat person, and true asset to the Inn.

Shane Hart, the front office supervisor, was delightful. Like Julie, he was always concerned about the enjoyment of our stay. His upbeat personality and genuine concern for our good time made us realize that there are great advantages in staying in a boutique hotel. You feel like your among friends, and Shane was just wonderful and made the trip that much better.

Joe, the concierge, was wonderful in making all of our dinner reservations prior to our arrival. I don't know how he got us in everywhere, but he did....Rev, Alreds, La Marmotte, etc.He printed up the itinerary and it was waiting for us when we got to our suite. Great servi

Jen Cordova and Laura Aliman worked at the front desk, and were always friendly and helpful. Last minute changes to restaurant reservations, or request for more pillows were not a problem for them.

Henry was helpful in driving me to the super market to stock up on some kitchen estimates. He was so personable, and always had a great smile on his face. He told me a lot about what it's like living in Telluride. Always had our skis out first thing in the morning, and made sure that the stairs were free of ice. He's a great asset to the property.

Nicholas Bosma was a great bartender, as was Jenna, (I believe that was her name, she has blonde hair). They both made fantastic signature drinks. They were great conversationalists, and when you combine that with the bar's amazing views, you want to stay there for the entire afternoon!

Elvia, and the other ladies that made up the housekeeping crew were superb. Each time we returned from skiing the room was immaculate. They didn't mind that my little dog was in the room when they cleaned it. They were very sweet ladies.

I know I've missed someone in thins is review, but we're trying to squeeze in another trip next month, so I can hopefully add a few more names.

Again, we had a spectacular time.

Cheers!
Dr./ Mrs. P. and Molly

Room Tip: Rooms facing the Chondola are generally better in terms of mountain views.

Excellent accommodations with a true ski in ski out experience, Employees were very helpful, friendly and dedicated. Always looked forward to the chocolate chip cookies at the end of the ski day. Rooms were very homey and clean. Enjoyed the steam shower and jacuzzi tub. Liked that we could bring our small dogs. Great breakfast every morning to fuel you up. Then in the evening, the Salay Thai was also a pleasant experience. Only ding would be the roof top hot tubs may need to be cleaned more often.

The beauty, hospitality, service and perfect location we experienced at our recent stay at the Inn at Lost Creek were all top notch. Fresh snow, bluebird conditions, lunch at Bon Vivant and a beer at Allred certainly enhanced the experience, to say the least. This is literally ski in and ski out. I can't wait to experience the golf in/golf out aspect of the Inn. Staff go out of their way to be helpful and of service. Our dinner at Talay was exceptional. I was smiling our whole visit.

Hands down, the best winter/ski stay in town. This intimate hotel is simply wonderful... affordable with lot of extras... dog-friendly...and the entire staff's emphasis, definitely customer-service driven. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect vacation for our first-time ever stay in the Telluride ski area resort.
During the New Year's Eve week, our family of 3 had the privilege of staying here at "The Inn" for 7-nights. Based on TA's great reviews, it was an easy pick for a family-ski vacation. We stayed in a Jr. Suite unit. Since all other units were already booked for the busy holiday season, we didn't have a choice for a bigger suite or a condo-unit.
Reception upon arrival was warm & friendly. Entering, on the left the warmth of the beautiful fireplace in the lobby was so blissfully inviting... and there were freshly-baked mouth-watering chocolate chip cookies, spiced hot apple cider & fresh citrus fruit infused chilled water on the right. Their lobby has total curb appeal, very Colorado-Woodsy-Sportsy-modernesque combined with super-polite staff at the front desk. The cozy feel of it's small-hotel-charm was so addicting...
A delightful, super-friendly and versatile staff-member "Charlie", escorted us around after parking our car and brought our luggage to our unit 609, "Cimmaron" suite on the 6th floor. He showed us the features of the room (helpful !) and let us get settled in.
Our Jr. Suite was cozy and nonetheless spacious enough for our family of three. Charlie told us "The Inn" has 7 floors and 32 units with "no units built/furnished alike". Other reviews have covered the rooms pretty well -- and let me confirm we loved our Jr.suite. It's designed like a 1-bedroom suite separated by a common fireplace-wall, with the front of the fireplace in the living-room side and the back of the fireplace burning in the bedroom side of the suite. Queen-size bed along with the bathroom were decorated with the fresh purple orchids, and a bowl of fresh fruits (apples, oranges & banana) with "Acqua Panna", italian mineral-spring bottled waters were there in the living room next to the pull-out sofa-bed. In addition to the jacuzzi-tub in the bathroom, we loved the private all-sealed steam-shower, that immensely helped clear sinus pressures, nose bleeds & headaches, due to high-elevation related very dry air, zero humidity of Colorado mountains.
Juliette balcony, to step-out for fresh air, stacked full-sized Washer/Dryer, a humidifier and a kitchenette complete with dishes to cook light meals were an added bonus. With 2-burner stove, under-the-counter fridge, Keurig coffee-maker, microwave, kitchen-sink w/ extra instant hot water faucet, there was practically no kitchen-counter space to work on, and also no dishwasher either. But that was ok, since daily housekeeping was terrific at taking care of cleanliness and also evening turn down service was great at making the sofa-bed ready early every night...with chocolates.
Ski-valet was another huge plus with "Christy's Sports" conveniently located right in the property downstairs for your ski-rental needs. All hotel guests gets 20% off on all rentals. A few steps away on a heated walkway, is an outdoor ice-skating rink nestled between the village shops & restaurants.
Best of all, being an easy ski-in/ski-out place to stay, this property is centrally located at the base of Telluride ski resort's Lift 4 and at the top of Lift 1. And, at 9545 ft. above sea level in the Mountain Village, it sits almost 1,500 ft. above the town of Telluride. The "gondola station" is steps away from this hotel for an easy commute at 3 different directions. On the west, gondola takes you to services like, grocery, post-office, bank/atm etc, and on the oppposite east, you take a short, less than a 15-min. gondola ride with breathtaking mountain-views down to the valley of Telluride town (wheeee...) for restaurants, local shops & "the Nordic Center !"
And yes these gondola rides are free here. By far, the best public transportation you get in any mountain town !
A decent but somewhat limited all-american breakfast-buffet was also included in the stay.
Every morning it was served in their on-site Thai restaurant "Siam Talay". Potatoes, eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals & fresh berries were all great. We felt it would've been nice, if they added at least one-type of any black breakfast tea to their morning fare, besides serving only one hot-beverage of coffee alone (which btw tasted really good). And instead of sweet pastries, substituting with just one type of whole-grain bread or bagel w/ butter would suffice any need for healthy carbs in the morning. Still we were very grateful; Thanks team breakfast for serving with a smile.
Two private reservations to the roof-top jacuzzi/hot-tub was " a fabulous end of the day at the slopes treat". Add sunset-time to that, and we found ourselves surrounded by the amazing views of the orange glow on the snowed-in mountains. Woww.
On New Year's Eve, just outside "The Inn", we enjoyed watching evening torch-light parade, where the crowd gathered to see the skiers put on a great show coming down the "Misty Maiden" run followed by a 15-min. spectacular fireworks at the bottom of village express Lift 4. They have a similar show on Christmas Eve as well.
While we stayed here we also drove to Mancos, near Durango for a half-a-day dog-sledding tour, and to Norwood, to ride horses in the snow ! We can't thank enough, the entire staff, especially "Aymin" from the front-desk/concierge, who wouldn't give up until he made sure that we were reserved for the horseback riding tour at "our" convenient date & time. Our special thanks also to the ladies of the front-desk and two thumbs-up with a shout-out to Shane, Ryan, Joe & of course our friend Charlie, for being extremely gracious to any needs that they were made aware of. We noticed first-hand, their appreciation for all guests, first-timers or regulars alike.
Telluride is famously known as "one of the friendliest towns on earth",.... where you meet Charlie, to whom my son puts it as "the coolest & friendliest guy on earth".
Nevertheless, we are truly honored to call this hotel "one of the best winter destinations" we ever experienced ! The weather in Telluride may have been freezing, but inside "The Inn at Lost Creek", it was always warm.

Room Tip: Book early to get a decent sized room, top floors are great, however almost all rooms have decent vi...
