“Absolutely Perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2009

My husband and I recently stayed at the Lumiere hotel in Telluride and it was the best ski trip we have ever been on. The staff is so pleasant and the girls at the front desk we very accomodating....the ski in ski out was the best part and your boots are waiting for you in the boot room! If you need to rent / demo ski, we recommend using Black Tie - they come to your room to size you up and the prices are very reasonable. Best ski experience ever and mountain villiage was beautiful! Take the gondola into town - just a 2 minute walk from the hotel!

We go to Telluride every year and stayed at the Inn at Lost Creek last year, which is directly across the street from Lumiere. I must say that the Lumiere is much better than the Inn at Lost Creek or any other hotel in Telluride. The personal service of this boutique hotel was exceptional. The entire staff we met called us by name each time. Kira, Stefan, Madison, Amanda, Tom, Kingston and Ryan all were terrific. We stayed in a studio which is the smallest room but it was plenty big enough with a huge bathroom for the two of us. Each night we had to make the difficult selection for breakfast in bed,. The ski valets had our boots warm and the skis were in the snow every morning. After returning in the afternoon, Fiji water, fruit, Kashii bars and fresh homemade chocolate chip cookies were waiting. They have complimentary Hybrid SUV service anywhere you need to go in town, but we always just rode the Gondola to enjoy the scenery. The turndown service at night provides more Fiji water and Godiva chocolate mints. We do not typically stay in boutique hotels, but I will stay here every time I return to Telluride!

We stayed in a one bedroom suite. The staff was excellent and very helpful. Loved the warm cookies after skiing. We had food stocked before our arrival, a real convenience. Very modern room. High end appliances (but surprised no ice maker/water in door of refrig). Comfortable furniture. Great comfortable bed (only surpassed by Chateau Frontenac Gold room). First time we've had TV in bathroom. Not happy we had a window from another room right next to our balcony which meant we had to keep our balcony curtains pulled for true privacy in our room. Small fitness room off of parking garage. Only had aerobic equip and free weights. Not what I expected from such a high-end accommodation. A good value for the price offered (one night free). Overall very pleased and would return if got same deal.

My friend and I stayed here jan. 22 2009. This place is absolutely wonderful. Special thanks to kiera, madison and tom. We were so spoiled during our stay. The rooms are beautiful, wonderful location and service undescribably. Definitely will stay here again.

My daughter and I joined another family in Telluride for a long weekend in January. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lumiere and will certainly return.

We were picked up at the airport by the hotel car, a hybrid SUV, and driven the short distance to the hotel. The driver was extremely thoughtful and brought bottled water for our ride and also provided us with an overview of the hotel facilities and the options for skiing during the ride. When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by an extremely friendly staff who treated us to a batch of freshly baked cookies. What a treat after a long flight! We later learned that the cookies were available every afternoon and we anxiously awaited a fresh batch each day.

The hotel is a boutique type hotel with both condo units and studio rooms. The decor is clean and crisp, but very comfortable. We stayed in a 3-bedroom condo unit that we shared with another family. The unit was spacious and tastefully decorated. From each room of the unit, we enjoyed fantastic views of the mountains. Another nice touch was the heated floor throughout the unit.

The weather was fantastic during our stay and we took advantage of the spring like ski conditions. The hotel was ski in /ski out and provided a ski valet storage room for our equipment. The concierge at the hotel arranged for our ski rental through Black Tie Ski Rentals. They came immediately upon our arrival and brought the equipment to our room. After we were fitted with our skis and equipment, they carried the equipment to the ski valet storage for us. On our last day of skiing, we simply left the equipment in the storage room and they picked it up for us. It was very convenient!

The hotel was very family friendly. The family vacationing with us had two small children. The staff at the hotel went out of their way to make sure the kids had everything they needed or wanted, including special requests for breakfast. Although the hotel provided a breakfast in bed option, we opted each morning to go to the bar area for breakfast. It was a great way to meet other guests at the hotel. The breakfast was set up in a buffet style and provided a number of options for a hot or cold breakfast. If the kids would make a request for something not on the buffet, the staff would go out of their way to provide it. In the afternoon, sushi was offered in the bar area. The sushi was fantastic. After a day of skiing, it was nice to sit in the bar with a glass of wine and enjoy freshly made sushi. I think the Lumiere bar is the only place to find sushi in Mountain Village.

We had a fantastic stay at Lumiere and we can’t wait to return.

We recently returned from our second trip to Telluride. We wanted to stay somewhere in the Mountain Village with ski-in/ski-out access.
The Lumiere is in a great location, and the furnishings and decor in the studio suites are very nice, especially the heated floors in the tiled bathroom. We are typically not fussy travelers but found ourselves appreciative of the high level of service.
The Lumiere is positioned at the upper end of the market, but given the location, furnishings and high level of service, we felt the Lumiere offered and delivered great value. We would definitely stay there again.

We were one of the first guest at this new hotel in Mountain Village. The service was outstanding and the guestrooms immaculate. The outdoor pools and sauna were not complete for our stay so that was a detractor. However, ski valet was awesome as was the location for ski in ski out service! We definitely will be back!
