“Two terrific stays at Lumiere. Thank you!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

This was our second stay at the Lumiere in Telluride, Colorado, a boutique property with twenty-plus condos that functions as a hotel. It's a stellar place to stay. This time we spent 9 nights in a two-bedroom top-floor condo with full kitchen, large balcony with dining table and hot tub, and magnificent views of the Sneffels Wilderness. We were there the third week of August.

The staff is terrific, particularly the concierges and bellman. Both times we have vacationed in Telluride without a car --- great. You don't need it with the gondolas between town, Mountain Village, and the grocery store. The few times we have needed to drive somewhere the bellman could usually accomodate us.

Our early spring stay at the Lumiere this April --- last week of skiing --- was in a fourth floor condo that had two twin rooms for our and my brother's kids (one with bunk beds) and was just as fabulous. They have a great bar where you can get drinks, coffee anytime, and a terrrific breakfast.

I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for views and light.

We are a family of five. We stayed in room 45 which is a two bedroom suite. The suite is spacious, has a beautiful view, and has a great kitchen. We spent 10 days and we used all the facilities, which include a small gym, a Jacuzzi in the room, the different pools, and we were even allowed to use the barbecue by the pool. The staff gave us all the help that we needed to make the stay as comfortable as possible. The team of concierges was great and they helped us plan all the activities we wanted to do.We will definitely be coming back.

Our family stayed in a three bedroom suite and absolutely loved the hotel. The location is superb in the upper village, the accomodations are new, modern and perfect and the staff caters to your every wish. As beautiful as Telluride is, the hotel is so nice you are hard pressed to leave - it feels like a dream home. We also loved the special cake that the hotel chef makes each day. Prepare to add a few more calories.

I wish every hotel was like the Lumiere!

We stayed six nights in the four bedroom penthouse on the seventh floor. It was splendid. Absolutely fabulous views from every room and nothing in the world like sitting in the private hottub on your balcony at sunset. The staff is first rate and service could not have been better. Emily Pierson was our concierge and she handled everything beautifully, even surprising one of our party with a gorgeous birthday cake and wine. The bell captain, Ricardo, also responded to our service needs (mainly operator error problems) very patiently. The lovely cake in the hallway more than overcame any concerns one might have about changing elevators. The rooms are generously sized, the beds comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, and the furnishings are well maintained and very guest friendly. It was a memorable holiday and I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel. Compliments to the staff for a great vacation!

Room Tip: Call and talk to the concierge, Emily. She knows the hotel and the area very well.

My husband and i enjoy staying in nice hotels. The Lumiere ranks up there as one of the finest vacation experiences ever. The entire staff was very friendly and accommodated all of our needs. The hotel bar served excellent food. It was very convenient. Coffee and breakfast in the morning, nibbles and drinks in the evening. Our room was beautifully decorated and so comfortable. The shower was so nice we took extra long showers even though you don't sweat much in Telluride during summer. Great place to recharge your batteries. We will DEFINITELY return. Thank You, Lumiere!!

Room Tip: The one bedroom residence was spacious, with a fully appointed kitchen and high end appliances. Wat...

Beautiful rooms, amazing service, top-notch location. This luxury hotel has it all. Came for a weekend getaway with my wife and loved every second of it. We felt like such VIP guests the way the staff took care of our every need. Kudos to management for a job well done!

Room Tip: The concierge service is wonderful!

Stayed here for 4 nights July 15-19. And I have to say, it was perfect. It's hard to call it a room or even a condo-- thanks to an upgrade we ended up in a unit bigger than my home! My teens were thrilled that it didn't have a room number rather a name "Wilson".
Honestly it was way too much space for 6 people, but every kid was thrilled to have their own space and not have to share rooms or bathrooms (did I say there were 5?) The kitchen was huge. Dish set up was odd--very hard to reach in a corner. I had to climb up on the counter to reach the bowls!
Beds comfortable, place super clean, and location was convenient to get to near by restaurants and the gondola.
Very very quiet location which was what we were looking for. We had to do the 2 elevator transfer as well, but the assorted treats left out on the table (apple cinnamon cake, blueberry bread, chocolate cupcakes and cookies) that we walked past during the transfer made it bearable.
Lastly, the staff is amazing and jumped to help with everything! I think my entire family would recommend Lumiere.

Room Tip: If you can get a room with it's own hot tub, we'd say go for it! All 4 teenagers thought th...
