Honestly, I was skeptical about all the rave reviews. Mountain towns (even ones that cater to tourists) aren't usually the best at offering quality ethnic fare. Siam proved me wrong.
My wife loves Thai food (and spent time in Thailand). I usually opt for other choices because I'm not impressed with the Thai offerings around us. (For some reason, mediocre Thai appeals to me far less than even bad Chinese.) Because it was a special occasion, I offered to try Siam based on the great reviews. I'm glad I did. It rekindled a place for Thai food in my heart. My wife said it was the best Thai meal that she can remember having in long, long time.
The prices are higher than I'm used to for Thai food. But, it's Telluride, so I'm not surprised. And the portions are HUGE, so I can't complain too much. (Next time, I think we would opt to share an entree.)
It's definitely on our "repeat" list next time we're in Telluride.
